Nice build John, as always.
What did you use for color?

Sweet! Love the color and engine detailing, also the tuck n' roll inner trunk panel and body-color front spreader. The trunk upholstery doesn't look like styrene..is it clay/putty? Or cast acrylic? Seeing more builds of this kits on the "finished" section on various forums, I'm struck by the windshield frame (wonder how it it would look chopped 1-2") and the 'hashmark' hub caps. I thought for sure I would have a set of those caps in my stash. Imagine my surprise when I found that this kit might be the first to offer them. The Revell '32, '48,and '29 RPU, the Monogram '32, the AMT '53 PU...all seem to have '48 Ford style caps. You'd think at some point somebody would have said "let's offer something different for a change"! (Correct me if I'm wrong...) Well they sure look good here

The "tuck and roll" trunk panel is evergreen v-Groove sheet styrene, they make it several widths, you can match just about any kit tuck and roll with one of them, I do keep several widths on hand!! I mixed the color at work (NAPA Store), I picked a maroon I liked and here it is.

Now the tasty ones reveal themselves. Great to see you and Dennis doing this new kit with the attention it deserves and requires. The painted grille sheet really helps give the car a nice "classical" tone I haven't seen elsewhere. The more conservative vibe is actually something I've come to expect in your style. It's somewhat unique and always a treat to see. ...Love the color and engine detailing, also the tuck n' roll inner trunk panel and body-color front spreader. ... For sure a chopped windshield will dramatically change the look of the car, especially on the channeled version (along with some serious attention to lowering it...). The big plus of the new Revell release as far as the windshield is concerned is that it's separate from the dash, it has a proper angle to it and its plated (as opposed to the ramrod straight body color piece molded to the dashboard on the old AMT kit).
And I think your right about the 'caps, although I share your surprise.

I keep an extensive stash of grooved styrene sheet around. It's a great shorthand for tuck and roll and surprisingly convincing. I also use styrene "tiled" sheet for quilting. It's especially effective when you cut it at a 45-degree angle. I can't think of any other way you could do it.

VERY nice John! I like all of the changes you did to it. Especially the painted grille shell. That's a cool touch!

Absolutely bitchin! Traditional roadsters and maroon are just a winning combination. The accent color on the wheels and engine is perfect. It looks so incredibly better with the radiator shell painted body color. Like, a million times better, it's a whole different car! It was also really nice of Revell to detail the trunk so when one cuts out the lid there's actually stuff in there.

Well they sure look good here This is for sure the first time '46 Ford "whisker" hubcaps have been offered in 25th (or 24th) scale. You're right, most of the kits have the '47/'48 block letter caps and it starts to get boring. Thanks to Revell's stock '40 convertible and coupe both '40 Deluxe and Standard hubcaps are available and AMT's stock '41 Woody has a really nice set of '41 caps. Now the only caps we need covered are 1942. Hopefully some day!

I'll second what Dennis said; maroon is the perfect color for traditional roadsters! This one looks awesome!

The Roadster now has a very cool top, thanks to the craftsmanship of Dennis and the Casting from Ed !! I still have to put in a rear window and maybe a little detail painting !

Looks awesome with the top! I think it needs some flat clear and a foiled window frame.

The rear 3/4 view is great! I really think the top is a cool bonus for your build that will probably have people wondering if the top was supposed to come in the kit! LOL!
