Hmmm, what to say? It's both ugly and kool at the same time Very unique to say the least, in good way - I want to see more of this "sicko"

Nice work on the custom hood! It's great to see something as creative, yet traditional, as this build!
The bobbed front fenders kinda remind me of an Auburn Speedster.

I like the extreme models of the 60s, and this has nailed the look so far. Cool trick with the twin '40 hoods to create a custom nose! Reminds me...there's a 1:1 extreme 60s custom rod out there somewhere with orange and white panel-paint and tons of body mods, that had a nose something like this.

I think it needs either a bubble top; or a coupe roof sans the quarter windows/door window frame work, and windshield pillars.......much like the Lil Coffin!

I think we must be thinking of the same car Ed "Elegant Critter", Hot Rod magazine August 1967 I won't post the other pics because they're large and I don't want to derail your thread. But you get the idea.

I was actually thinking of a couple other similar rods built back in the day; but I do remember this one! LOL!

The more I looked at this Roadster version of the Coupe, the more I felt it should be unique to itself rather than a Roadster clone of either version of the Coupe. I had another set of fenders from an AMT 32 Vicky kit so I've used them with the modifications in the 2 pictures below. I've also spent a lot of time (and patience) working on the custom nose. I'm still working on that hoping it'll evolve into something more attractive than I now have. With the chrome headlight units in place (I don't have a picture of these yet) the nose looks better already. The fenders need more work yet as well. I added a rolled rear pan to the body and filled in the new taillight starter holes in the rear of the body and I'llI have to come up with something different here. Comments, suggestions, criticism, let's have it! Gary

Maybe hooding the headlights to mirror the grill shell...add a little contour to the profile ??
For the tail-lights, my immediate thought is '58 Chev park lights mounted vertically to mimic the headlights.
...just my 2 cents- Regardless...this car hits me where it counts, I love this kind of custom work!!

maybe some evergreen strip to complete the lip on the rear fenders? Or remove the lips from entire fender unit and countour the front fenders a bit? I really dig the first set of fenders pictures in the first post, but I am sure this fender unit will be nice as well.

Work progresses on all corners. Today I worked on the front end some more. I chopped off the spreader bar and added another filler/extension piece at the lower part of the grille opening. I made the engine scoop from an AMT 49 Ford scoop and a piece of styrene sheet. I hope I can use the scoop, and that it'll clear the future front radiator hose. Keep them comments and ideas coming. They give me food for thought, either on this model or another one another time. Gary
