Looks real promising, Roger! Would love to see how you eliminated the spare tire well. Thanx! I didn't take any photos of the process. I just ground away the well with a Dremel, cut a piece of .040 to fit the opening , glued it in, puttied and sanded it. I can do an after photo if you want.

Now THIS. IS. KOOL. Just needs those recessed lines on the sidewalls painted. Blue? Red? Gold?

They are painted blue. But,it doesn't show very well in that photo. Those wheels and tires are gone now anyway. I found a wheel and tire setup that I really like. I'll show those on the next update when I get some paint on it.

Way back when the late Ron Cash did the ‘34 pickup fender unit minus the spare tire well in resin. I think I’ve got one around here somewhere. Another idea for Ed to cast!

Another idea for Ed to cast! Possibly; but I have a bit of trepidation when it comes to casting something another resin caster used to offer; having been on the other end of it with so much of my stuff being copied or pirated......even by accident because someone just assumed I no longer had a vested interest in said piece; thought I was out of business; or didn't try very hard to track me down for my permission.

I don't think a resin fender unit would sell very well. The modification is simple and easy enough for anyone to do. I may have an hour of time altogether in removing the spare well. I sprayed the final primer today. But, I had to modify the stock firewall to make room for a V8. So, I'll have to hit the firewall again. I got the Revell '32 rearend mounted to the pickup's spring and split the wishbone. Worked out pretty well and got the tires tucked in a little better. The engine is kinda up in the air now. I'm thinking about using a Revell Parts Pack Cadillac engine in it. I have it in the stripper getting the chrome off. I'm gonna stick it together and see how it'll fit. If it's too much hassle to make it work, I'll just go with the 390. This thing is starting to snowball!

Got it final primer. Just need to let it cure well and sand. I'm kinda mulling over painting the fenders black. Tough call right now. I modified the stock firewall to fit the Revell Parts Pack Cadillac engine. I plan on using a lot of the chrome pieces on it. I'm going to try to make a set of the frog mouth or similar style breathers for it since there's only going to be four carburetors. Just have to see if my plan works out. My wheels and tires are set. They're from the Revell '41 Willys gasser kit. I slipped the rears inside a pair of the old Monogram tires. It's got the perfect rake to it now IMO. Hopefully, while the primer is drying, I can get the chassis in paint and done. I also gotta get the engine finished up. While I've strayed from my original plan, it's coming along pretty quick considering that I haven't devoted a lot of time on it. 20181202_234837-1 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr

Yes! Those wheels and tires are even better yet. Caddy looks good in there, too. Can't wait to see it in paint.

I still like the five spokes, but the slots look good too. Neat job on the engine installaion.
