I absolutely LOVE the looks of this thing!
My only suggestion would be to swap the front wheels/tires for the Beatnik Bandit versions (without hubcaps) - OR go crazy and use the wheel/tire combo from the Miss Deal Studebaker.

The T mock up is BAD ASS! You need to build it.

Thanks guys! It will get built (all the parts are in a bag and labelled) but some other stuff is ahead in the queue! I have the Beatnik tires and wheels, but was going to use them on something else. We shall see...

Since I don't have a dedicated thread for just engines...here's the Cad 331 I've been plinking on. I wanted some short, white, upturned headers (I was imagining them on a blown engine) so I bent up some rod over a soldering iron and fabbed exhaust flanges. Drybrushed some aluminum metalizer over Testors Burnt Metal for the carbs, and balanced some bootlace ferrules on top, just to see how they look. Dramatic!
This is the Outlaw's Cragar 4x2 intake rather than the one that comes with the Parts Pack; it has wider spacing so the larger carbs almost fit...slight problem with the fuel inlets running into the neighboring carb though.

Update: Shot some Tamiya white primer on the headers and dropped some dark grey into the open ends.
Applied matte grey between the ribs on the valve covers. Started mocking up a 3D printed distributor. It's slightly larger than the kit item but not too crazy.
Toying with trying to depict braided cloth ignition lines. I tried with some cord first, and while the cord has the perfect texture, it's a bit too fat. Then I tried some sharpie on insulated wire as seen here. I'd love to be able to pull it off...those cloth lines are so classy.
At bottom is two resin copies of a '55 Chevy oil filter cap sandwiching a piece of styrene tube and chromed with Molotow. The idea is to wrap the center with the custom "V8" patterned silver decal I had printed late last year, to create a custom air cleaner. I can already tell it's not going to give me the effect I want (too clunky)....so attempt #2 will involve applying the decal directly to an aluminum or chrome cylinder of some kind. I'm thinking something like the metal cap covering the eraser on some mechanical pencils, trimmed short.

Well, it didn't quite turn out. But I have some ideas for where to go next...

The Caddy mill is looking good. I dig the way you painted the headers. The gray inside the tubes looks better than flat black against the white. I’ll file that for future use.
I also dig the way the air filter turned out. I’d use it!

I dig those cloth wires. You have inspired me to try some of my own.
Experiment: Tape all the wires down pressed close to one another. take a ruler and a fine tipped white gel pen and make lines perpendicular to the wires along the length of them making sure not to smudge the line you just drew. after they dry, flip them over and repeat.
Dry brushing a white or cream color could also work if you had a fan type brush with wide bristles.

I like the idea of using a gel pen--it would have to be something that doesn't flow much, otherwise the ink spreads out and creates and out-of-scale mark. I just tried with a sharpie as it was available...but I do have a white gel pen I could try. The best would be an off-white or darker colored pen, not too bright or it takes on a "BeetleJuice" zebra-stripe look.

I think you need to check out the pen isle at your local office supply store! You might find the end caps on some of the fancy pens and mechanical pencils might just have the same look and size as those air cleaner bases (in scale).

Funny you should mention that Ed...that's where I'll be looking next! I have a mechanical pencil at home with a metal cap over the eraser that would be about right...trick will be finding more of them at an affordable price.

I wonder if you can't find replacement parts on-line; or if you were to contact the company and see if they might sell you a bag of end caps?
