Just a small update on this one. After getting it all polished out and starting the foil work I decided I could not live with all the small stress cracks that appeared in the paint.
I don't know what caused them. I wasn't twisting or flexing the body in any way.
So I stripped it down to bare plastic again and this time the body looks much better.
It's in primer again now and I'll be starting the paint process again soon. I think the green will be slightly more to the yellow side this time though.

"Mar 10, 2021 at 3:37pm Post by SteveMilberry on Mar 10, 2021 at 3:37pm Another little quickie curbside build."
Ha ha! I know that feeling. Every time I try to build something quickly it takes years.
Like the others, I liked the shade of green you shot over the silver base but I'm sure that the new slightly "yellower" green will look fine, too.

LOL Supposed to be the upper hinge of the vent window. I don't know why they did it that way but it's not correct. Should be just a little tab 1/2 way down. This is for a Mustang but it's the same design.

I did know that I helped my brother R & R a pair on a Mustang (or a Cougar he had both), the "C" shapes didn't ring my bell though.
Looking at your door and how heavy the kits wing window frames are molded, gave me a thought. How would it look with one piece door glass? It would take a little structure on the inside of the A-pillar, like on the gen-two Camaro and Firebird one piece door glass, where the glass is supported on the inside and a clip on the outside. Might be worth a little finagling and photoshopping to visualize what it would look like. I sort of visualize it as a thinner sleeker look to the door and A-pillar combination. Just a thought, it's your 'Bird after all. I like everything else you've got going, you always do top shelf work!

Maybe if the pillars were bad I'd try swapping in something like the pillars from a '68/'69 Torino. I think I want to keep this one simple though. The body turned out to be in such good shape, I don't want to screw with it too much. I'll be doing another, more detailed custom build of one of these bullet birds in the future. I'll keep that mod in mind for it.
