i could not help but to do some more mockups. the interior tub will not be in it, it's only the mockups. as low as i want it to sit, my best bet is to make it a curbside chassis. the front is too low in this pic, but the rear is right Bob, that's lookin' great with the red interior and pinner whites!

this is no update, but i found this pic on the HAMB board lastnight. i could not beleive someone was driving a 1:1 that looked pretty damn close to the model i am building. mine won't have a any bumpers and will not have stock grille etc.... but this thing was close! this is the 2nd time i was building something that resembled a 1:1 that i never saw before until i was building it.

Bob i like the stance of your Nomad the way it sits in your last mockup. i do understand how and why you're thinkin it's not right tho. Duane

well after looking through all my projects that are on TRaK.... I decided that this one has been sitting long enough. i started this nearly 3 years ago and it started as a friend who wanted me to shave it and roll pan the rear for him as well as paint it. i did the work for free and mailed it back to him, but he didn't touch it because he said he was afraid to mess it up. to me that was the best compliment lol in short, i got the car from him shipped back to me for $20 cuz i wanted to keep it in the first place after i did the work. since then i have played around with it here and there...it's sat in the box so long that there is a small rub mark on the roof i need to try and buff out. any ways... this is next on the bench, hope this makes saoutlaws happy LOL

one thing that has held me back on this thing is the interior....
what the heck am i going to do with it so that it looks tradtional and doesn't clash with the paint job?
i have thought of FAUX Fabric "gray', but i have a feeling that would look much too new.
any ideas guys?

great ideas guys! i think i like the "white pearl" with black piping idea for this!
i need to get the white pearl and from what i understand the only way to get it is the Hobby Town that carries TAMIYA here. that shit is like $6 with tax and i have NEVER used Tamiya before... will do the interior when $6 lands in my lap.....for now... i will do the rest.

went over to Steve's house tonight and got a couple hours building in! all i got done was putting some of the engine together. i used Ambroid Pro-Weld and filed all the seams out. this is the kit's stock/custom option. I will most likely not do too much detailing other than maybe plug wires on this. i just am having a good time finishing models and detailing always slows me down. Hosted on Fotki
