I had this old Monogram '36 coupe kit with a partly formed chassis and interior. For some reason I pulled it from its resting place and started cutting. The same day I disassembled a '62 'Vette for parts and was wondering what to do with the body. Th wondering resulted in this… I'm thinking I should've done the front first, well at least before before attaching the rear fenders. Sorta looks a little goofy around back and in profile, but I'm thinking that's coz it sits a bit high still. It Looked lower before I sectioned the body but to me this looks better in real terms, just that the rear fenders are too high and the suspension needs to be lowered too. I am kinda happy with the front even if I made the bonnet too long, but nothing there than can't be easily fixed with a little more cutting, gluing and filling. The chassis is an AMT '40 with the front crossmember moved forward to stretch the wheelbase, still dunno what I'll use for power, but that can wait until I fix the rear fenders and bodywork. So, the $60,000 question is, is it Trakable? The plan is to make it like a '60s era show kustom/rod. Or am I just plain nuts?

in the 1960's....model car contests yielded a lot of models with outside the box thinking and countless were similar to this...so with that said, this "forward thinking" was part of the hobby during a trakable period.
