Obviously there is a lot untrakable in this. Wheels, engine, paint etc can be changed but what about the rear end? Is it trakable?

you could fabricate another crossmember and build up a traditional buggy spring rear end. the frame could be covered outside with .010 styrene and made to look as if it had not been boxed.

Loks like a Jaguar IRS. I believe Jerry Kugel was installing them in rods in the mid 60s or earlier.

It is a Jag IRS. It's a Lil' John Buttera car. Buttera built most of his hot rods in the mid-70's, starting with this one in 1974, although the real one had rear windows, as did the original version of this kit when it was released in 1975.
Ray Farhner used a Jag IRS in his "Blue Angel" custom 32 Ford in 1959.

I think we established the Jag rear ends were around in the 60's on many rides and so.....yes it was available and it was used too.
