Here's the big brother of the two 25 "T"'s I started last month, the coupe. I stripped the chrome off all the chassis parts, mostly because of all I've heard about difficult assembly. The glare of the chrome really made it harder for me to see clearly enough to try and figure where each part fit to the next. I'll try to detail paint what I can later in assembly. The frame rails have been wedge cut and dropped just forward of the firewall.
I guess the "odd" looking Hemi engine might be making some scratch their heads. I don't know why, but I was never a fan of the Lincoln engine in this kit. I did want a Hemi though so I did a little mixing of parts. I shortened the length of the block where the heads locate and glued on an old set of Hemi heads I've been holding on to for over 50 years. I slightly modified the old heads and fitted the Lincoln headers into the Chrysler heads. The valve covers came from the engine that the heads were from. The intake and valley cover are also out of my parts box and have been modified to fit between the heads. The front of the engine will wear the kit Lincoln pulleys and fan. I started modifying the lower front of the body for drag link clearance. The Deuce grille shell is from the AMT 32 Vicky and was cut down and fitted into the frame where the T shell is supposed to be. The front tires are resin "littles", but I'll have to check on who makes them. The rear tires are the white plastic slicks from one of the AMT mid 60's kits.
In the first picture I toyed with the idea of filling the quarter windows. My wife didn't like the idea, what do you guys think? The other side view shows the unfilled quarter window. Thanks for your patience reading all this stuff. Gary
