I've got this (these!) back on the bench as of yesterday. I painted the frame silver. Now I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what color to paint the tall T body. I can really use some suggestions here guys, so let's have 'em. Thanks, Gary

Are you building the car with an interchangeable body, or two separate cars? Silver frame...hmm. Blue and purple go well with silver.

Purple huh, good one. That would be a VERY good one. More?

I agree. With hot rods there are certain pairings that are pretty traditional, and, as a result, go easily together.
Silver = blues, violets, pale greens Gold = reds, oranges, medium to deep greens, browns and maroons Cream white is pretty much universal which is why it's used so often in interiors, firewalls, fender liners, etc.
If you retain the two bodies I think they should be different colors from each other, but either somehow related (for example pale solid violet and deep purple metallic, or heavily contrasted (for example a pale green competition coupe with numbers, etc. vs. a show roadster in a deep candy metallic purple or blue), both sharing the same chassis.

Burple! Blue + purple. It was a color that Bill Burke painted at least one of his cars. Photo from Steve Sexton flickr.com account.

Yesterday afternoon I painted the 2 roadster bodies, one metalflake red, the other blue flake. My original, stupid idea was to have 3 interchangeable bodies for the one frame. I only took this back out yesterday and already felt that that was a bad idea. I have one untouched kit left. But here might be a problem. The Tall T and the 2 roadster bodies have all been modified for clearance of the drag link. Why I did that I have no clue. So, I could build a new frame for one of the 2 roadster versions, with the (ugh) Lincoln engine. I might even have to use the new body from my extra kit. I feel like I'm gonna ruin the plans for the models I envisioned. Will I need to get another kit so my coupe will have a chassis? Gotta think on this some more.

What it boils down to now is this. Which one of the three versions do I want to put on my shelf. This is my tough decision!

I have a chopped t built, as well as a roadster near completion so I want to build the tall t soon. I really liked your tall t version.

Is the T-coupe the reissue with the purple glass insert? I have a '25 Tall T-Coupe the works, it's the purple glass insert reissue. My plans are to use the clear windshield and the back half of the purple glass so the glass is not so dark the interior details can't be seen. With that in mind the body colors will have to go with purple. Purple Glass Insert - Black, Lavender, Grey, Silver, white with some shade of purple accents, Purple Tinted White, Tan W/Purple Accents, Metallic Purple with Flamed Cowl, Graphite Metallic Grey, Pearl Plumb... Top Matte Black, Matte Purple, Matte Bright White, add some Rolls and pleats on white or lavender base R & P's in White on Black, Interior Color on White or Black...
Clear Glass Insert - Black, Gold with flamed cowl, Metallic Lime green, Washington Blue, Medium Grey, Bright Red, Chevrolet Nassau Blue, Dark or Medium shades of Purple, Sublime Green, Light Blue, Metallic Root Beer Brown, Pearl Lime, Pearl Plumb... Top - Matte Black, Low Gloss White, Interior Color, Same Rolls & Pleats Themes as above...

I actually unchopped the top by using 2 bodies. I wouldn't say that it was very hard because of the fact that the A, B, and C posts are all vertical.
On another note, I have totally parked the coupe build and will use the pictured frame on one of my 2, T roadster builds. New threads coming on those.
Thanks for the interest on this one, Gary.

Yep, now it's the TwoTall Coupe. Two chopped tops put one on top of the other makes it TwoTall! It's been back on the bench in the last few weeks, on it's own chassis now, Sporting a 32 grille shell connected to a 40 Ford flathead with a pair of Strombergs, way in front of an abbreviated body backed with a custom Ford script gas tank. The lower rear of the body was modified using the rear of a 25 T roadster body. The gas tank started as the tank under the seat, removed from the seat, with 2 layers of .060 sheet added to it, and finally the tailgate from the same T kit. The hoops around the tank were cut out of .040 sheet. In order to use the 40 flatty I had to have the 32 shell higher than the front of the cowl, but that certainly happened back in the day. Aside from a few little things, I can't see any reason I won't be able to finish it in "23. Gary Hosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki

I really like this TwoTall T, Gary! It’s got a great look and proportions from both angles. Looking forward to seeing how it looks finished.

Looks sweet Gary. I wasn't around when you started this build but I would have voted for the covered windows. I really like the back with the filler instead of the trunk. Just makes it more interesting. Great job on the fuel tank.
Two suggestions. Replace the steel front axle with a couple of pieces of Evergreen 1/8" rod. I use one piece that I glue in place and then cut away the excess. It really makes a difference in the appearance. The other is a nit but if you wanted the grille shell/radiator lower you could remove the upper radiator hoses at the heads and then cut some of the vertical length out.

Looking cool! You've arrived at a good option, though I was partial to the roadster.
