Just my opinion.....1st one, nice! but no, second, certainly, last one, most likely. And pay no attention to Duane's comments, he can get a bit "over stimulated"

I have unlocked this topic to further discuss the pickup at the top.
The question is "why isn't it TRaKable".
My first answer is how it's built. It's more of a modern "rat rod" approach, rather than something that has been done since the early days , to consider it "traditional". It's about the style, not all about the parts to me.

I agree with Glenn and Bob. All very nice builds!

Perfect answers..........the truck build could have been done; but was not something that was seen enough to call it traditional by any means. It is a modern build style despite the parts being of vintage era.

I can understand the modern style thinking. But, I damn sure wouldn't say it's a "rat" style. The idea I had for it was someone had a nicely painted and Z'd chassis with the Ardun headed flattie in the works. Then, stumbled upon an old '50s Kustom pickup setting in a junkyard with rusted out/missing fenders. A transaction later and the cab is setting on the freshly painted chassis. I think of it as more of an "in progress" build. The interior is painted and nice. It's just waiting on a paint job. Here's a photo of the chassis. Thanx for the explanation guys. Now I know and don't think I'm trying to say it is TRaKable. I was just explaining the idea for the build.

I get it Roger, sorry didn't mean to call it a rat rod it's just what comes to mind is all. I think it's a neat idea though! Thanks for understanding :-)

I'm in agreement , but what if the cab still had the front fenders? would that swing it back to trak?

that's the funny thing....if it had fenders it could be! Sometimes it's a missing part LOL...body parts? That could make or break it here...trying to keep it looking period is tough.

It may 'Z'ed more than anything from the TRaK era, don't get me wrong, I love it! it's a beautiful thing! those TRaKers who know my work know that I don't post here because my models are so very influenced by the 'kulture' that although not 'rats' they carry a contemporary attitude, and like your truck, they are just not TRaK-able. keep up the good work Roger, and build the kinds of model cars you like, I'm sure some of them will be TRaK-able.

well said Robert! build as you like, not what fits here....but we don't want ya to go anywhere! Your builds, especially the pickups you are playing around with are certainly loved for viewing! If you like, join up on DPMCC forum and a lot of us are there too...you can post whatever you want. drasticplastics.proboards.com/index.cgi
