do you see anything here that is unacceptable? from left to right: tires marked TRX that I painted white stripe on, with 67 Nova wheels goodyear tires that read polyglas, same wheels Firestone whitewall with Stingray wheel cover thanks in advance Pscott

The TRX's are typically the red-headed step-child of the scale tire, but if they're being used on a closed-wheel car and with the skinny w/w like you have there, I think that's acceptable. It's certainly something you'd see in the late 60's, at least, and sometimes they're just what you have that is the right size.
Nothing wrong with the Polyglas GT. Plenty of those rolling around in the latter half of the 60's as well. They're certainly better done than the TRX.
Nothing wrong with the Firestone at all, nor with the Corvette caps.
The Rally wheels are what might get you tripped up. I'm not saying that they weren't used once they were out (mid-late 60's), but in the "traditional" circles they tend to be seen as too contemporary. You can probably thank the Rally wheel craze of the late 80's-90's for that.

thanks, Chris & Eric. more irony: nowhere in any GM brochure is the 67 style wheel called "rally", that is simply one of the optional wheels if disc brakes are ordered. the first mention of rally wheel that I can find is in the 1968 full line brochure; the 68 & up wheels had much different (less attractive in my opinion) hubcaps.
there have been a few epic threads on the HAMB discussing -mostly cussing- the so-called rally wheel.
if the TRX tires are used, I will remove the letters.
I've used chrome steelies and 5 spoke Americans on so many builds! trying to go with something fresh for the 57 Bel Air.

Oh, yeah...a nicely detailed-out set of Stingray caps would look killer on a '57. Rallys can be real nice in certain applications (there's a reason they took off like wildfire), but they're played out. Maybe they'll be cool again in 10-20 years so I have a small stash of 'em.

Ed was selling the resin Rally wheels with no caps, I think in a big/little combo, that look really nice. That option won't help anyone deplete their stash of kit Rallys, but they are good looking wheels. I have a set I plan to use on a non TRaK build (street/drag S10). I agree though, that despite the date of their debut, I also tend to place a vehicle with swapped on Rally wheels in a later era.

I completely agree with all that's been said.
Adding the white line to the TRX goes some way to backdating it but it's going to depend on application, it can be hidden better and made acceptable here under the front end of a lowered 50s and onward car a lot more easily than out in the open on a fender less rod or jacked up gasser where it would probably look wrong. I've had success painting a thick whitewall on a TRX for a 50s style rod but you have to shave the word Michelin off!
For some reason I've always referred to the wheels as Rallye with an 'e' - not sure why...?
