Hey folks, since I'm new here I figured I'd confirm if my style fits in before posting a build thread lol. Here's one I built about 5 years ago, also the last time I built a model. Untitled by , on Flickr Untitled by , on Flickr

I'm not sure that it fits here, it looks kind of ratty to me. Some other members may have a different opinion, that's just mine. But I would like to welcome you to the TRAK board it is a GREAT place.

I'm no expert on this either, but it kinda looks Ratty to me as well. But TraKable or not, it sure is nicely done! And welcome to the Forum.

I'd say flat black doesn't make it a rat. If you had built it and painted it with a metallic color with chrome rims no one would say a word. To me, it fits.

The chop and channel is a bit severe but other than that.....................?

Very nice looking car. It's the radical chop/stance and front suspension setup that make it look contemporary, IMHO. This is an ongoing difficulty here at TRaK, I think. With the New Traditionalist revival now 20 years on and having morphed into various sub-styles, how strict do we want to be regarding the particulars? Still, I think it's a modern rod, not in a style dating to the pre-'69 era.

I've seen photos of hot rods with both a radical channel and chop done back in the 50's, sedans even, so on that basis I'd say it doesn't violate the rules. However, the paint scheme doesn't seem traditional, black primer and green engine screams modern build to me, however I can't say for sure it wasn't done back in the day. This is one of those builds that runs in the gray area.

Thanks for the compliments, I really appreciate it. I figured this car would be iffy on fitting the guidelines, and that's why I asked just want to make sure the next build will fit in. I painted the engine green since its a Ford flatty, but in hindsight its probably to bright of a green lol. Thanks again guys for the compliments.
