I was looking around for a "what do you have off your bench" sort of thread and I guess this is it!
Here are some projects I have going that are mostly in the "thinking about it" or "gathering parts" phases. I think all of these are trak-able, but if not then gently sh*t can them please.
One thing I like to do is buy up built chassis and then fit bodies to them. Here is a stock Ford chassis with a flathead that I often use as a mule to set a body on and see how I like it. This would be some sort of chopped deuce by flintstone, maybe?
This Woodie body fits on the chassis very nicely as well, maybe one day I will commit it to this one:
Here are a couple of sedan delivery bodies by Mr Flintstone, 53 Studebaker and 58 Chevy, Biscayne possibly:
Here is a T lakester sort of thing, sitting on top of an article of a car that is inspiring me:
A deuce coupe with upholstered top and rear deck, possibly another Flintstone creation. Also shown is the mucho altered AlaKart nose I have been messing with for years, and the Revell 50 Oldsmobile engine I intend to use on this one. This one is near the top of the to do list:
Here is a Big T lakester that I have been messing with for a few years now. Nose will be totally redone, chassis shortened, I already have built an Offenhauser engine for it, and sorted the wheels tires and running gear.
Would this one be a chopped 34 Ford coupe? I am not sure, and I failed to write details on inside of body as I usually do. Regardless, I noticed this body fit the chassis of the Willys kit it is sitting on, so I think I will adapt it. have already formed rear wheel/frame cutout on the body and done some excess thickness removal, again, think this is a Flintstone body.
Everyone knows the Revell 29 Ford roadster and coupe are on the endangered species list, but I have two of the roadsters and I have just the bodies for them: a 29 (again, not an expert) Ford roadster with full louver job all the way up to the radiator area, and a chopped 30 Ford five window coupe, both purportedly made to fit the Revell chassis. I think the former is from Fremont Racing Resin and the latter from Altered States Resin. Very excited about these too and on my to do list for 2019 if not before.
Finally (well not really, a lot of others sitting around here too, but these are the most likely to get some work in the near future), we have this little Austin pickup diecast that I got somewhere. I tore out the wheels and tires and replaced them with some others for posing purposes, and they are mercifully obscured in the photos so as not to damage sensitive eye tissue. This thing just screams GASSER to me, but its a total pain to deal with as the body and chassis do not really separate cleanly and other problems. I already tried to remove the annoying decals but with little luck, so please excuse that, hey they drank coca cola back then, but meantime this is overdue for a swim in the purple pond. Anyway I think this has great potential that's why I still have it out on my project table.
Let me add one more here, some time ago I scored on ebay a tarnished but otherwise complete Revell Parts Pack Custom Triumph Motorcycle. The wheels and tires had been mated, the engine halves glued together, but otherwise it was pretty minty, though, as I mentioned, somewhat tarnished. Just last week I started fooling with it and before I knew it was looking pretty good. Unfortunately, some time ago I borrowed the handlebars and triple tree top piece for another project, so now I have to find a suitable replacement, for the top piece at least, I could fab up some decent handlebars. Here is what it looks like now, Tamiya Candy Lime Green is quickly becoming a favorite. I intend this to look like an early sixties sort of 1% ride, but chromed frame and some other goodies that make it a street/show bike. Short forks for sure. Wish I could find a slightly thicker rear tire, too.
alright, anyone have any comments or questions please feel free!!!
