Managed to coincide a warm sunny day with actually having some spray paint in stock so I felt it was time to get some primer onto a few projects... '59 Thunderbird with the sliding sunroof they only offered for '60. Was supposed to be a simple lowering and wheel swap but I can't leave anything alone. Will likely end up gold with white tuck'n'roll . Dang - you got some nice stuff kookin' there Mike!!

This is what I'm building right now. It's a curbside with a modified chassie-plate to look like a plain jane with inline 6 and manual tranny. I'm doing a new interior with tuck'n rolled benchseats front and rear. It's also been slightly dechromed and will have custom lenses for the taillights. Sorry about the Tires...I guess they are in the "grey zone"

I love this thread! I noticed there haven't been any recent posts so I thought I'd add one:
These are pics of my recent 53 Ford project that I've posted in progress shots of not too long ago in 'On the Bench'. These pics were taken way before the putty/sand/repeat then initial paintjob blowup and redo(see that post for the backstory). The pics here show the car with all the surgery/bodymods roughed in and a light coat of primer just to see how it was shaping up. Here I mocked up the narrowed Revell Merc bumpers, widened custom grill bar, continental kit and bullet tail lights to get a vibe of where it was heading. Custom mods: Chopped top, rounded hood corners, frenched headlights in extended front fenders, molded grill opening, lowered front gravel pan, shaved body, rear fender bulges extended forward and scooped, molded stock skirts, scratchbuilt rear gravel pan. The rear fenders look like they're extended rearward but actually the top of the rear deck and rear window lower lip has been slid forward, to: A. aid in keeping a smooth profile of the chopped top/rear window, and B. slant the vertical rear portion of the trunk forward so that the continental kit can be positioned at a more sleeker angle. The rear fenders also might appear lengthened due to the addition of the vertical peaks below the tail lights. This build is getting really close to completion so stay tuned for a post in 'On the Shelf'!
