Quick update on what I've done lately. I filled in the two depressions on the back of the frame so the cage will sit level. I'm going to throw some putty over that soon. I also added the beginnings of the homemade rear bumper: I've built one front & one rear rim so far, from various parts sources:

BTW, even though the rear bumper looks to stick too far out on the chassis by itself, with the body in place, it's about perfect: I also fabbed up a lower firewall:
