That looks really cool, John. Simple and damn effective. THanks, Sam!

Looks great John. Wish I had an "eye" for customs but I just don't have that vision. Thanks, JC! Trak is the perfect place to learn to develop an eye for customs! Give it a shot!

Looks good John! Are you going to make the grille in the hood flush? Thanks, Roger! I'm not sure I want it to be flush but will work it so it has less of a "tunneled" look.

I had to look twice; the patina on the new grille matches the bumper/headlight unit so in a way it looks like nothing was done. Cool! Thanks, Chris! Gotta love that old chrome!

Friggin' awesome John - Is there any possible way to incorporate some of the grille into the tail section to "balance" the design? Thanks, Chris! Nice idea. I'm not sure I have enough pieces left, though.

John, how much did you shorten the bed front and rear? I just got a real nice one and want to make it a short bed. I know it needs 18 scale inches out of it. But, I can't find out how much front and rear. Also, did you finish this project?

FYI: There are parts of a ‘60 Ford Pick Upon eBay right now in parts section, everything but glass, engine and wheels. It is listed as all separated but looks like a good start at the averagish price for complete ‘60 when you put all the separate pieces together.

AS I recall it was eight inches out of the bed and chassis in front of the axle, because the SWB truck has a 110" wb vs 118" wb for the LWB truck. Ten inches comes out behind the axle. The SWB truck has 6.5' bed, LWB bed is 8' Hope that helps. Double check this info before cutting, please!

Yours looks right to me. I don't have a set plan for mine just yet. I'm either going to set it on a Foose chassis with a Coyote engine or set it on an AMT '53 chassis with a supercharged Y block.

Sounds good, Roger! My vote: '53 chassis and blown y-block!

I see someone bought the ‘60 Ford shortbed body and bed floor off of eBay, hope it was someone on here that got it and build it like it should be built!

Looks good John! Are you going to make the grille in the hood flush? Yep, just did that the other day! Only five years after! I guess this'll be my F-100 Build-Off entry, though I'll have to bump a project (sorry '58 Bonneville!) to finish it by July 4th, dammit!
