I've had some luck reproducing that brass/gold chrome look by spraying with Molotow first, then a clear paint (Tamiya yellow or Createx or something). Looking GREAT though, what a cool build!

Thanks for the info! I might have to try it. I'm on attempt 2 for the real brass radiator idea, and it's not working out especially well.
This build has been giving me fits. I got the rear suspension set up, but then found a series of compounding errors that screwed everything up. I tried to band-aid fix it, but destroyed some previously completed work on the frame. So, now I have to rip up the rear suspension and frame, and try again >.<

Echo! Echo! Hey, it's pretty empty in here, let's go, guys!! It's been busy lately, but in the last few days I've managed to get a little done on this model. Doesn't look like much, but a bunch of the major problems are getting closer to being solved. Since last time: -ripped out the rear frame kickup, shock mounts, and crossmember -removed the ladder bar mounts from the axle and tried again (I had the bars mounting slightly forward of the axle, causing the weight of the model to point the differential pinion skyward. Doh! Wouldn't work on a real car, either, so it had to go. -ripped out the ladder bar mounts on the frame and installed new ones (still need to repair the damage) -made quarter-elliptical springs and mounting plates. These might have to change...right now it's riding at about 3 scale inches of ground clearance! -glued up the axle and trimmed to correct width, pinned on some Revell '32 axle ends. -Revell '32 wheel backs with resin copies of Revell '48 backing plates hogged out to fit. -Trantuala valve covers...the engine block is a bit too long, so I might have to fudge things a bit -sectioned oil pan now smoothed, chrome stripped -blower manifold clearanced for 3D printed distributor -3D printed blower pulleys..still figuring out the spacing on those. -long blower snout ('65 Gran Prix maybe?) to help clear the thick timing cover on the SOHC -new pinned flanges made for headers -sanded the slicks -installed 4-link mounts -cut down a resin copy of Revell '32 radiator to fit Pie Wagon rad. God, that piece is SO un-square in every possibly way. Lol. -template made for engine mount To do: fix blemishes, make shock mounts, curved rear crossmember, engine mounts, headlight and taillight mounts. Oh yeah, and a 3rd link on the diff to stop the pinion angle from changing (modeled after the suspension on Gary Kessler Don Kendall's super-low T bucket). The clearances on this thing are tiiiight. Hoping I don't run into trouble with blower belt clearance. There is absolutely no room for a fan, haha. Oops, I was going to draw arrows next to the "shocks will go here" note: they'll run from the ladder bars up to pegs on the back of the frame kickup.

Geeze this is progressing so well. This look is what "T"'s are all about. Stuff in a big engine and hold on like your life depends on it! Fun, fun, fun!

I dig it a LOT! What is the rear center section out of again? It looks like the color the Monogram Lil Coffin was molded in; but that did not have a quick change. Btw, are you going to carefully thin down each spoke in the front wheels?! LOL!

Pie Wagon? Looks like the same colour plastic as the steering wheel.
I'm taking notes on this one.

I dig it a LOT! What is the rear center section out of again? Btw, are you going to carefully thin down each spoke in the front wheels?! LOL! Ed, the QC is Pie Wagon. I was going to cast it, but I put it off so long that it was holding up the build. It's considerably fatter than the QC in the Orange Crate, Double Dragster, or Double T, and has a nice finned end plate with good bolt detail, something the others lack. Only problem is, it has the bells molded in so axles from those other kits won't fit. As for the spokes--the plan was to chop out the spokes and re-build them with fine wire or filament. Not sure if I'll have the time to get to that, but I know it would make a huge difference! As for the stance, thanks It might have to come up a tad in back, but it'll still be low!

Thanks for the info! I cast the quick change center section from the Revell '42 Willys pickup kit; which appears closer to 1/24th scale; but would not look out of place under a 1/25th scale model. I don't recall if I sent you one with your last order or not. I cut the goofy short axle tubes off of it before I molded it; so you can use any that will fit.

I really like the rear end setup! To be honest, I don't like the headers. I would make a set of header pipes that sweep back like a zoomie and form them into like a running board if that makes sense. You could end them in front of the rear tires or make them turn out slightly.

Thanks Roger! The headers are probably gonna stay. I don't know why; swept zoomie pipes would probably look better. There's just something kind of filthy about them that lends the car instant personality. They'll be painted white, not chrome. We'll see, if I get 'em on there and hate them, (and if there's time) I can scratchbuild a set.
Here's a great example of awful headers that I happen to love:

Thanks Roger! The headers are probably gonna stay. I dig the spaghetti headers. They give the build a unique personality. Zoomies would be fine, but there's just something about these ones you picked that trips my trigger

I like your choice of headers here too Chris........just hope they don't actually touch the desk top! LOL!

I like your choice of headers here too Chris........just hope they don't actually touch the desk top! LOL! Ja...zis eez ein problem. Lol. I'm gonna get the engine mounts finalized, then figure out how much to flare the headers outward so they don't touch the ground. Fingers crossed that it works. If not, I'll take Mr. Plowboy's suggestion.
