Oof, that's a lot of work. Well done! I like the wire piping. Strikes me that it must be easier to hold to shape than styrene rod or spark plug wire.

The wire is very pliable, and bends very easily. Some of the styrene strips will bend, but they tend to have a breaking point.

Let's see if I can catch up with this one........... I got the hood this far along: I started fabricating a hinge for a forward tilt: So far, so good! I also trimmed down the flange around the trunk opening: While pondering my next move, I slopped a little paint on some li'l pieces:

Here's the chassis, with engine in place: Since this is a custom Merc, I decided to use Pontiac blue for the flathead.

Looking good! You're moving right along on this HAHAHA.....it would seem that way! LOL I actually have this in the display cabinet, in a finished state!! I just slacked off about posting it here. Maybe I need 30 days in the electric chair for punishment!! HAHAHAHAHA I did a mockup to see where it stood: I like how it sits. The baby moons are from the kit, mounted to double stripes from AMT parts pack. The next stage was spraying the Tamiya Coral Blue, TS-41: While that dried, I tossed some flocking onto the white glue on the already painted interior:

That's beauty. I have one of these in an unfinished state. My eagerness to do bodywork has me wondering if I need a new body. I'll have to look at it with a more Keen eye. I chopped and hardtopped it. I also wedge sectioned the rear so I thought it looked cool but my lack of experience stopped me from going further. I may have to pull it out and see if it is salvageable.

I went the DIY route for handles and cranks: Plastic rod stuck in plastic tube. I made six. Where #6 was when I took this pic is a mystery. I added square stock, and filed down the sharp edges: I added round knobs for the window winders: A touch of Molotow and semi gloss black, and they are done: Interior is ready to install:
