Looking good so far! Please don't put another set of headlights under the stock ones! LOL! I think some 'air scoops' in the openings above the grille would look good.....with some screen mesh just sunk into them a little might look good if you don't want to rework the body in this area.

Interesting choice of front pan! I agreee with Ed regarding the headlights, but maybe the vertical headlight pods from the latest reissue of AMT's '57 Ford could be molded in?

Those great, gaping holes are one reason this job has taken me so long! LOL I have considered the mesh grille treatment, with maybe a set of parking lights in those voids. Thanks for all the ideas, and keep 'em coming! I can use all the input I can get!

Retractable machine guns? I don't know, I'm struggling to visualise anything in those openings other than some kind of mesh, as already suggested.
Edit - forgot to say I like the results of smoothing out all the doo-dads at the rear, and the peaks on the fenders.

After cutting out the molded in grille, I thought the opening was too expansive, so I added some strip along the bottom of the main grille opening: Moving to the interior, I chose to use the seats from the Monogram '59 Caddy: The console is from the Impala kit. The shifter is a not-so-straight-anymore pin. The front seats proved to be too wide for the Chevy, so I took a section out of the middle of each one. The white rib in the center of the seats is actually sheet styrene. I attached each seat part to it for a little added strength. Maybe a bit of overkill. The rear seat had a better fit, so I just added strip to mimic the fronts. The chrome piece along the top of the rear seat is from the Caddy kit: I added and worked some strip behind it to help it blend in with the package shelf: Here are some interior parts wearing gray flannel undies: I may still have some finesse work to do on those parts, but they are getting there!! Comments always welcome!!

I like this project a lot! A mesh-filled mock up would be nice to see. It's hard to imagine without seeing it "live".

I'd like to find a mesh that's a little more user-friendly. Below is what I have on hand: It's the same screen I used on this Lark:

I have these wire wheels: These are from Fujimi. Tires came with the wheels. Here's an early mockup:
