Starting an TRaK eligible build. Kit bashing the new Moebius Comet with the AMT AWB Falcon to build a more accurate Daddy Warbucks style Falcon. Started by sectioning the chassis 16 scale inches. Needed to section the interior as well. Chassis needs some more fabrication at the rear but a good start.

Oh yeah, saw this on Model Cars Magazine, but glad to see it's posted in here. This is going to be a very interesting project, and like I said in the MCM thread, it's nice to see someone taking advantage of the "one year only" rule about axle relocation on the FX classes. Will be following for sure.

I enjoy this forum but don't build many TRaK projects so it's nice to be able to contribute when I do. Thanks Stu, Craig & Niko for the comments and the interest.

I saw this on MCM last night, glad to see it here, too!
Great start. I loved your last Falcon and looking forward to following this one.
When the real cars wheel base was shorten did they just cut out the floor pan and shove it forward like you've done with the model?

That's my guess Dennis, move the axle tunnel and the suspension pickup points forward Don't have a lot of reference material on the chassis fabrication.

Modified the traction bars and brace from the T-bolt kit. Reshaped the wheel wells.

Happy with the axle location. I'll be using a different wheel/tire combo.

Us Ford guys gotta love those T-bolt traction bars, I've used more of them on other builds than I have T-bolts. Will be following along with this.

I like the SOHC in the Moebius kit but also made a few enhancements. So far , I have closed off the backside of the front cover, stripped the chrome from the valve covers, enlarged the spark plug notch, and created the bolt notch on the end of the cover that was not present on the kit part.

Dennis, according to this book they moved the front half of the rear wheel wells forward on the Falcon. No pictures of the chassis but I will post the text when I get a chance.
