Randy; i've got some matches, if you need some lmao ! Are we proposing Arson here? When I was a kid, many of my earliest models (likely glue bombiest) suffered from a string of arson as well as car bombings which wiped them out; did you know Testers old formula Model Airplane Glue is quite an amazing accelerant…

Skip; Randy mentioned not finishing builds, the match comment meant to light a fire under his ass ! i never burned my models, but i know some who did, and the airplane glue worked just fine !

LoL, I knew what he meant, just being a little incendiary, I’d never strike a match to anything that purdy! Love what he’s done this time!
When I was younger and you could get kits at the Bargain 88 cent store sometimes 2 or 3 for 88 cents, these were the kits that sold everywhere else for like a dollar and up to $2 at the hobby shop! We would save our allowances and lawn mowing money and buy a glut of models, even planes. Somehow, there was always some sort of arson spree going in the neighborhood every summer when these incredible sales would hit! Thinking back now, whoever the owner of the Bargain 88 cent store was no dummy either. It got lots of traffic in his store and lots of models sold. I’m wondering now if those weren’t previous year’s annual kits, this was screw bottom era so it could have been. They were mostly AMT, Hawk, Palmer, Lindburg kits, maybe a Johan promo type kit tossed in. I do remember there were no Revell or Monogram kits we were always keeping an eye out for the Little T and Deuce but never saw a one that’s probably ok too because with so many pyro’s and budding car bombers they wouldn’t have been too safe!
Now let’s see that beauty little pickup slathered in some shiny perfect paint sitting all pretty making the rest of us all jealous!

OK Randy, I have started mine and I wonder if you can share how you lowered yours. Did you see the build back an issue or two of SAE (now SA)? I couldn't quite follow the process that was shown to lower the front because of the grainy picture quality. Now that you're on leave I hope you get back on yours. I think the 348 or a 409 too, are great and appropriate choices because I believe this engine was originally designed for trucks. Thanks, Gary
