another thread helped remind me....
4. It's really very simple......Traditional styled pre-1970 rod (1969 and older) , kustom (concepts are acceptable) , vintage drags and salt flat cars ONLY! (some pre 40's dirt trackers and other racers are acceptable)"

Not a traditional rod or custom, as the TRAK guidelines require. But it is a modified car that that would have ran in the mid 60's, so personally I don't have a with it being posted here. Our board participation has been down and maybe it is time to relax some of the guidelines. And welcome those builds that maybe pushing the limits of trakability. Not trying to get anything started, that's just my thoughts. The participation thing is a valid point. However, I think we should still remain true to the original premise of this board. Stock cars may have been featured in early issue of Hot Rod(I can't attest to this myself, but other have mentioned it), by the mid 50's that coverage was gone. And yes, hot rodders, especially in the south, were making stock cars and dirt track cars to satisfy their legal racing urges. But also by the mid-50's, that type of racing was not widely accepted as part of hot rodding culture. Is that fair? Probably not. But it's the reality. I'm torn because of the participation aspect of it, and the fact that usually these builds are well done and I could learn something from the construction techniques. On the other hand, there is a multitude of forums where these types of builds fit and can be shared, but how many forums are dedicated exclusively to Traditional Rods and Kustoms?

yeah I just want to keep it the way it's been. participation may be down, but that's because of facebook and instagram...not because we are not good enough. this forum is considered out dated by today's standards with cell phones for example. doesn't seem like as many sit at a computer (i am right now) and it's too easy to hit the icons and just see what you want to see. the sad part is, you can't see what's going on here...because this place is loaded with talent and knowledge!
