I have been doing some work on this one. Started with the rear end today and got something like I’m searching for. Don’t know if I will re-do the rear or if I will stay with it and continiue from what I got now. I also made a computer sketch trying out my ideas for this build. Getting close to the pictures with the body now but still needs a lot of work. If someone still think this doesn’t belong here on TRAK let me know. I will not be offended, I allready knows this is on the edge of not beeing TRAK, but I try my best staying and keep it trak I WILL NOT paint it with the white stripes!

Quad stacked and slanted headlights spells Kustom with a capital K in my books. Don't stop, bring it on!

Just a suggestion, and not one I at all expect you to take, but if the goal is to lose some of the Cobra flavor and make it look more like a handmade custom sports car, what if you blended in the fender flares to the body a little more and lost the creases around them, much like in your top photoshopped photo there? Or how might it look if your removed them altogether and tightened the fender wells a bit so that it more closely resembled the cars Chris posted on the first page or that Ferrari Berlinetta? Again, just suggestions.

Hey, cool photoshop concepts! I like this thing so far I agree it would look more period/less like a Cobra if the fender flares were shaved off to look more like the original AC Ace that the Cobra evolved from. After all, flares are for fat tires, not skinny whitewalls!

I have started the work with the fender flares to give it more of a blended look. I thought they looked a bit out of scale, even if I would have stayed to name it as a cobra. The body is getting realy close to what I am looking for. Still needs a lot of changes and work before I’m done witht the body mods. I have also filled up some holes in the body and changed the door opening a bit in the c(b?)-pillar. Fender flare before sanding/cutting
Rear fender flare after some work.
Front fender flare before/stock.
Cut 1.5mm from it
Front fender flare after some work.

Hey, clever idea with the custom speedometer cluster!! I never would have thought of that I like the thinner fender flares! The back end looks appropriately kustom now too. I also like the enlarged back window that you marked out with black pen....seems like it makes the car look sleeker.

Wicked. That window fits the car much better now, and the new window opening matches the angle of the front fenders.

Started some serious interior work today. My plan is to give it more of a "show rod" style of interior. Need a lot of work but I like what I got so far. Got this ugly bumper.. Dont know from what, but it did have the shape i was looking for.
Found this headrest from the latest amt 49 mercury that I will use.
I cut the bumper and will have it as a center console
I will add some more tuck n roll to the "trunk cover".
I have used two trunk walls from 49 merc to make the door panels.
The dash is getting closer to what I am looking for. Thinking about adding some gauges, one on both side of the speedometer.
