Have had an desire for one of thes about three or four years.. did buy a built SW that came crispy and clean out of bath. Interior and windows where not that good, but as I got it I just have to go with it. There was a custom hood and front as rearpan..no originals. My inspiration died.. I really wanted a Camino to build in a semi Kustom style. Found over time a hood, som more custom treats and grille/bumpers. Last weekend I made a visit to a plasticbrother for a good time with some "October beer" and plastic/nostalgic talk. So.. I came home with this one!! Next day I was all over it. Here is wher I am right now. What Wheels do U think?, Body is to be Pearlwhite, interior and Engine darkred and maybe also bed-area.
I like the wire wheels...but maybe that's because I've had a Chrysler 300 project with wire wheels sitting on the backburner for ages. It was going to be pearl white, too. I think my second pick would the chrome-reverse wheels. Looking forward to seeing more!
Ooooo. Makes me want to break out my 6 four. Lol I bought a resin Chevelle hood though that doesn't quite fit.
Inspiration is why we are here! =) My hood is also resin, and I had to reshape the lip a bit, could not keep letters. To fit any hood with fenders or in rear I first tape/fix corresponding side and then use a thin strip of abrasive (320-600) and shape the most uneven area.. hood or fender or backradius. In this way they get the same line.

Wires is my 1:st thougt when I got inspired to search after one.. these came out of a Sihouette kit. Same style as the ones from Riviera but my last set from a Riviera where wider.. dont know bout the latest edition.
One thing that bugs me about the El Camino and the wagon is the orientation of the dashboard. It needs to be tilted downward. I built the '65 wagon many years ago and really wish I had fixed that issue. If I ever build another one, I'll definitely fix it.
Wow! We very rarely see a '64 El Camino being built. I like these cars and the '64 is one of the best looking year models. Your starting point looks really good. I'd go with the Chrome Reverses, but I'm sure whatever you end up with, is going to look excellent when it's done.
krassandbernie: Do you guys even check the 'recent threads' or 'recent posts' buttons down at the bottom of the main page?

krassandbernie: There was notifications in the 'Resin' section to indicate a new post(s); but no one has seen the several latest posts I made there.

superflekmoonbird: Thanks Paul...they look good. Air temp may be part of it...for comparison some rattle cans (Tamiya) mention 50 degree F and above, Testors Lacquer says 70 degrees..
