Fresh off the workbench, this model represents a couple of firsts for me. It's the first 1950's truck I've ever built (except for a factory stock 1950 Ford F1 as a gift for my dad back when I was a kid) and it's the first curbside model I've ever built. There's plenty of these trucks done as customs so I decided to take a hot rod approach. I'm very pleased with how it turned out and couldn't be happier with the tuck & roll interior set from Ed. The truck wouldn't even be half as cool without it! Smoothed hood with 6 rows of louvers grafted in. Front wheel openings moved forward 4.5 scale inches. Smoothed and opened up grill modified to take separate headlight rings. Deleted bumper and molded-in front pan. Shaved door handles. Smooth tailgate and molded-in rolled pan. Revell 1948 Ford taillight housings with Revell '32 Ford kit lights. Revell 1948 Ford Custom Coupe spotlight and wipers Lowered stance. AMT 1936 Ford Coupe/Roadster chrome reverse wheels. AMT parts pack double stripe tires. Modified AMT 1936 Ford Coupe/Roadster chrome side pipes. Drag City Casting resin tuck & roll interior set. AMT 1950 Ford Convertible steering wheel and seat belts. Sprays: Testors one-coat Root Beer, Tamiya Racing White and Maroon Decals. AMT 1934 Ford Pickup

This is one of the best '53 Ford pickups I've seen built; and I'm not saying it because of the interior! LOL! You did a great job my friend! There isn't anything about it I would change............other than putting an engine in it! LOL!

Came out really tough looking Dennis. The use of Ed's interior is a huge improvement. Wheels and tires are perfect.

That turned out excellent! I think you nailed the overall look with this one. Styling is pretty much perfect in my opinion, and as usual, the build quality is top notch. I agree that Ed's interior is a huge improvement compared to what comes with the kit.
Seeing this makes me kind of regret that I traded my chopped '56 Ford Pickup gluebomb away a few years ago. Just didn't have any plans for it at that moment...

Love everything about this, but what really caught my eye was that you used the vintage seat belts. Just totally outstanding build!

Very cool looking old shop truck Dennis! My favorite parts are the little things like the wipers, steering wheel and especially the decal on the bed cover! If I didn't already have a '53 and a '55 on the shelf, I'd want to build one in a similar style.

There isn't anything about it I would change............other than putting an engine in it! LOL! Glad you like it so much! I don’t seek approval but it’s always nice to get it! LOL! And believe me, doing it curbside was a bit of a struggle for my OCD but now that it’s done I’m looking forward to another. Oh, and feel free to use these pictures to help promote your interior set. That’s why I specifically took close up photos before putting the cab on.
