Really exceptional in so many ways. Before mentioning any details first a recognition of the overall styling and proportions. Not all kustoms done in this style from this period, in scale or otherwise, look better as a result of the re-styling. This is a sleek, handsome, graceful machine, much of which is drastically changed from its source, and for all that, looks the better for it. Bravo! As for the details, I'm particularly struck by how the "pontoon" rear fenders completely change the look and lines of this ex-Shoebox. The inset continental kit works great with the fender extensions and tail light treatment. Other highlights worth noting are the uphulstery work and the crisply trimmed carson top. Big thumbzupz!

Gary: Outstanding work. The body mods work from front to back. Good color, great interior. Jim

This is absolutely gorgeous, Gary! So tastefully done from front to back. Perfect stance and proportions. That color scheme was a risky choice but it works beautifully. Love the interior treatment. Love everything about it!!!

Ingeniously conceived, immaculately executed. Bravo! The pontoon fenders are a revelation. It's like the best of Ford and Chev/Olds all in one package. The '49 Ford can be a bit of a fatty, and this treatment gives it some real grace! As Dennis mentioned, the color combo is a bold choice that paid off. It's taking all my willpower to resist chopping up the one '49 kit I have in my stash. I' love to have something like this on my shelf Thanks for sharing, and all the WIP pics too!

What an extremely well executed full custom. I see Ford meets Chevy meets Mercury, all rapped up in a luscious colour scheme, congratulations.

Wow! This looks fantastic. We've seen lots of these Shoebox Fords customized, but this is definitely one of the best versions in a long time. Like others have said, the proportions and the overall look are just right. I really like the new rear fender design, it completely changes the look of this body style. Excellent color choice as well...Really nicely done Ford!

Oh, yeah! What Bernard and the others said goes for me, too. And to think that it was once a glue bomb!

I just went back and read the full build thread again. I had sort of forgotten all the work you put into the interior, so kudos, it turned out beautifully! I also hadn't remembered just how many times I got my 2 cents in. Lol. Well, I sure love the results

I am blown away as usual Gary! It does give me a good feeling knowing that an old used kit that left my hands was turned into a gorgeous piece of art (as they all should be!)! I really like this one a lot!!!!!
