Finished this one up today. Basically a kitbash with a Revell '48 F-1 and convertible. I used the pickup's chassis, engine block with an automatic from an old Revell Ranchero, bed, roof, rear cab wall, floor pan, dash and door panels. The convertible supplied the front clip, bottom section of the doors, rear fenders, engine accessories, wheels, hubcaps, tires and seat. Paint is Tamiya Gray Green with a coat of pearl and clear.
I absolutely LOVE this, Roger! The blending of the truck and car "sheet metal" looks absolutely seamless. I don't see anything from any angle that doesn't work or fit right. Excellent stance and proportions. You nailed it. I really like the color, too. Perfect truck color.
Beautifully done. The truck has a subtle but powerful look, definitely says "hot rod" but has the class and dignity of a stocker. The engine looks tough as hell with the hood off, and with hood on, the clean lines and design choices help the little things stand out...like the chrome strip along the running board. I can't take my eyes off of the tire sidewalls, either! Like Dennis said, you nailed it
This treatment would probably work well on a curvy truck like a 50s Studebaker, too.
Thanx guys, I appreciate the comments! I was concerned about my wheel choice. I thought they made it look too stock. But, now that it's done, I don't think anything else would work. I have it set up so that I can change them out easily if I ever want to. I don't think that'll ever happen though.
spex84: Glad to ear it, Bob! I'm doin' OK too. Just not spending much time at the bench these days.

Dennis: Man, these last couple of weeks are the deadest I've ever seen this place. Sad...

krassandbernie: I'm surprised that only one or two members even noticed the new posts I made in the 'resin' section......and now crickets!

krassandbernie: You'd be getting more done than I have in the past year or two if you do build on the kitchen table! LOL!

EchoBravoSierra: I'm struggling to settle on something to build too. My "working on a model" time has been pulling a box out, digging in it, putting it back up, wash, rinse, repeat.
