Have you ever looked at the eliminator coupe and thought, "that would be cooler if it was channeled and had a hemi" ? well I did. so this is a zz top eliminator coupe body, Monogram drop front axle (black widow) revell 37 ford frame, shortened and narrowed revell hemi (32 five window) with a cragar 4 carb intake, 4 big carbs (revell 50 ford truck), and scoops (AMT 32 ford) Monogram Indy car front wheels, and no hole rear halibrands, with indy tires on them and a really cool short grille (no clue where its from) Who knows how much farther it will get, it looks pretty good on my shelf mocked up!

Cool! I like the raked stance. That short grille is ringing a bell, but I can't quite remember why...could it be from a diecast or a toy?

Looks good, I like the rolling stock. I'd raise the front end a tad, or at least level up the engine. Anyone (Dennis?) have any thoughts on how well scaled the Monogram '34 is? Sometimes it looks closer to 1/25.

Maybe from the roadster Revell tried putting on the Buttera T chassis back in the 80's? this might be right. Undersized grill shell is probably from this kit as Craig pointed out, I remember reading something in Scale Auto Enthusiast about it being way under-scale like almost 1/28 scale or almost dead even between 1/25th and 1/32nd scale. Might have been something by Tim Boyd, I know they did a review on the '34 Ford models and this one was ragged on pretty heavy. In essence SAE article stated that there really wasn't an accurate '34 Ford on the market. I've had this kit but never built it because it was really noticeably small, it's a pretty well engineered kit just like the other Lil' John Buttera kits are. That said, your Grill Shell probably came from the Revell '34 Ford 3W Coupe above or any of it's other releases.

Cool! The AMT '34 Ford three window coupe had a stubby grill shell as well. (The one-time issue from the '70s #T134)

So what I'm learning is that if I want to build a channeled '34 with a nicely shortened grille, I have to buy that piss-poor Buttera version? Just when I thought it was a kit to avoid, suddenly I'm feeling like I NEED one. Lol!! I s'pose I could throw the Jag suspension under something, so it wouldn't be a total loss.

Even though it's 70's styling, the Buttera frame really is a little gem, and many of the parts could be repurposed under other projects. Just toss the body(except the grille )
