I had bought Protars Ferrari GTO second hand and it has been laying in the "to be finished" batch for years. I had completed the chassi but the body was in a sorry state and it wasn´t worth the effort to make something decent out of it. But I also had a Corvette ´62 body laying around. Bought at a swap meet and not in a good shape either. But better than the Ferrari. So I turned both into a "quick and dirty" summer project with no focus on perfect quality. It required some Dremel grinding to fit the Corvette body on the chassi. The hood had to be opened towards the firewall, in order to view the whole engine. I made a new one of styrene. Quite tricky to bend it in all directions and the fit is far from perfect. Hood scope is made from a Mitsubishi Zero drop tank. I choose the same paint scheme as Briggs Cunningham had on his race cars (Hey, he raced a Corvette at Le Mans 1960!) Mikael

I like it, has the makings of an early ‘60’s “Special” the kind that used to rip up the airport circuits. One very minor criticism, that Brooklands windshield is so thick it makes it look like a correctives lens for Mr. Magoo. Easy enough fix with a thinner piece of clear or even tinted acetate, to bring it back into scale with the rest of the car. Other than that minor glitch (for mr at least), I think you have the makings of something pretty cool, kind of akin to opening the hood and finding a Mopar Hemi under the hood until it fired up with its distinctive Ferrari sound! It’s one of those “Why not,it coulda been” subjects!
