Now that's a vicious wheel-tire package, haha! Looking forward to seeing more of this one!

I have to say that while I am dig'n this one; I'm not entirely sure if the "Bear Claw" rear mag wheels make the cut-off. I think they came about in '68 or '69; and were gaining popularity on funnycars and altereds by around '70. I won't bust your chops if you stick with them; but they will date your build for very late '60's f.y.i.

The wheel was also used on a British funny car sponsored by Revell but it is not dated: www.sporting-reliants.com/DragRacingGallery.htm . Scroll down halfway to "Hillbillies" -- it's probably a couple of years too new but I just don't know.
It's odd that there isn't much online about it. I agree with you, Ed, about the time being right at the end of TRAKability time period.

LoL!! I'm leaning towards Charlie's points as well. For me it's almost as egregious as the air bag suspension on the back of these cars. If it's not mentioned, then I don't obsess over something being minorly over the date line. While I do obsess, over the dating of the parts and doo-dads especially the doo-hickies that I include on my own builds intended for the general TRAK audience and their critical eye, I don't begin counting rivet heads on other peoples stuff... LoL! Now say if chepp had included some sort of Billet Wheels, with a big ol' "B" in the middle of the tight fitting almost seamless cap that has its own special nifty little old hidden key method of dislodging them from the wheels I'll start carping up the first tree I come to... Otherwise, I might just find my self carping up the wrong tree some day. (So if you're gonna bust my chops, just don't hit me in my front teef where people kin see it; I got most of my teef still, even though some of them ain't so purdy. I've got some aftermarket ones too, so I don't want you rootin around checking on the dates they was installed that might be going a bit too fur for inny-buddies good...) Kind of like the last x-ray experience I had with my back. After I had the pictures done, the x-ray tech, called in another tech, pretty soon they had three of them back there discussing something about my now triple x-rated pictures. When one of them asks me if I had some abdominal surgery before? Yeah, I had a laparoscopic procedure performed a couple years ago... Why? The tech explains, well we've already counted 30-some staples, we were concerned that my might be eating paper and not taking out the staples... Ed, you got to Stop Countin' the Staples.... LoL!! Iffin' you want to count staples, there is a nice little ol' board where they like to beat each other up just for the sake of bein' right all the time, just for fun... Seriously, (sometimes I am), I get it when someone accidently adds a post-69 part on the board, I also get that sometimes for some people they put together what they've got with the parts that they've got at the time. They probably know it too. So in my pea brain it might just be better to let it play out and see what they add or do to correct the issue as the build progresses on towards the finish line.... Then break out the Chop Buster 2000.... LoL!

My comment was more or less leaning towards the education side of things; and not nearly as 'nit picking' as you apparently understood it to be Skip! LOL! And why would you let someone get nearly finished with a project they are dig'n on before you bust their chops about something?! LOL! Apparently, my memory was off on the exact name of these wheels! LOL! But, as I stated, I don't have a problem with Carl using these wheels; and it's right where he wanted his build to be time-wise...later side of the '60's. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings Carl........didn't think it would; but just the same, I'll delete my comments if so.

I think highly of what you and others on the forum think about what we all build I'm not up on all the things that were used in the 60's. Thanks Carl

Sorry Ed if I got you riled up, I was merely pointing out the how some things sneak by while others, bring out that whoa, stop here we got to look this over sign! I've always obsessed over those airbaggie things on the back of the Revell-o-Gram '32 Fords, some people just let them pass on by, so I usually don't say anything about it either. The other point with the wheels that could be changed as the build progresses. When a builder says something about this may be a little later than we usually do around here, that says to me that he might just change them up as things go along. But hey, I just wanted to see if you'd had your coffee this morning, evidently you must have! LoL! Weren't those same wheels on the Orange AMT Tommy Ivo Fueler that came out in '68 or '69, (or are the reissues later too...) LoL! I just didn't think there was anything wrong with those wheels in the first place, (or was there?), I thought they looked good on the car, they go great with the front wheels.
As far as rivet countin, I hope we never get to that stage here on this board, I will protest, and feud that as long as my arthritic fingers can tap out a protestive message that there are other boards if you want to count them thar rivets,, which I wasn't trying to insinuate you were in the business of rivet remuneration or anything like quantifying fasteners, which now that you mention it, were all them rivets sealed and painted over to the correct specification we wouldn't want any leaky fuselages or corroded airframe bits hanging around over out heads in case they wanted to drop out of the sky on our head-bones.... might hurt getting a prop in the scalp at full throttle! LoL!

LoL! Truth be told, I was never riled up at all; and thought you made a bigger 'stink' about it! LMBO! As far as the wheels are concerned, the fronts actually pre-date the rears by at least 10 years if you can believe that! Those front spindle mounts were still being used in the late sixties; but the taller 16" counterparts were more common by then. I've been around these cars (the real ones); and helped build true late '60's AA/Gas Willys around 20 years ago; and helped race them. My point here is that I've grown up and been around the old stuff most of my life; so I thought I'd chime in regarding the wheels before someone else (possibly) went off the deep end stating that they blatantly were not acceptable here. I am more in tune with other people's feelings and how things might come off than you can imagine. My wife and I talk about that all the time; and how we seem like the only one's in our family who are mindful of that fact! It drives me nuts quite frankly.........more so than I already am! LOL! Plus, I've mellowed out quite a bit............even here on the forum!

Now you're bringing up my wife and that commercial again... Blue haired, weird looking store employee..... We all See it... We all see it... (Can't believe that you haven't seen that Geico commercial) So now when I start going off on something that's so strange that it couldn't possibly be real or... My wife imitates the guy in the geico commercial,, "We all See it,,, We all See it..." In a calming tone that's supposed to be a cross between a shrink and a parental figure! LoL! I just can't see where she would see any similarity in me and those TV Wacko's! LoL!
I thought that I prefaced my comments in the first place that it was tongue in cheek, but if you missed that part and were offended I'm truly sorry especially if you took it the wrong way it wasn't supposed to be intended!! I know, I know, "We All See It..." LoL!

Carl; i like here your '32 is headed i know where you're going with it. i do have one critique, to me, the rear rims don't look aggressive enough, the front rims are perfect. do you have any deep Hildebrand slots rear rims ? i refuse to bust your chops, if you'd like to check to see if you'd like them better; i can send you a pair. they are Ed's resin; i'm just thinking out loud. i do like what you have, it's gonna be killer !
