I think to blend the rear and front together, perhaps mimic the hood bulges on the truck lid ending in a frenched license plate mount? With my eye. it cries for a full set of scallops to accent your body lines. Paul The idea of adding some matching dagmars to the trunk lid did occur to me but I don't think I would wrap them down the back side, just blend them into the edge like the hood. For sure it's getting a recessed license plate frame. Scallops sound cool but I'm not that good of a painter to pull them off, LOL!

Looking good! The grille bar works well, the bullets on each end of it are nice, & the rounded headlight pods is a nice touch. Rear end treatment is also excellent, & those tips are great! I'm glad you knew what I was getting at with the half round, & if I may offer one more slight recommendation; I'd fill in the little area between the tips & the tail lights with styrene, making just that part flush with the half round. That way the tail lights are still just sunk in perfectly like they are now, the tips are still out there just right, but there's no gap in that section. And everything will be tied together nicely. Either way it's looking even better than before. And it was already looking damned good! Thanks, Mark! I've been staring at those little spaces above the lenses and I agree it needs to be filled in and possibly blended into the tips. We'll see where things go tomorrow when I get my bench time.

beautiful work Dennis, the grille change is a vast improvement, and at first; i wasn't cracked up about the rear fins, and after the work on the taillights everything has come together perfectly. you pulled off a beautiful Kustom.

Nice Dennis, that grill detailing is a step in a more refined direction, I like it! As do the recessed license plate and other changes to the backside of the car. Something that I sort of envision on the rear bumper is, a 3 - 4" wide X 4 - 5" short of the white vertical strips (each side) it could either be just placed on the surface or recessed into the bumper to where it is nearly even with the bumpers surface. Such a strip might be mostly flat with radiused edges or a full half round bar with radiused ends, maybe even a pair of tiny dagmars out towards the ends, mirroring your current floating grill bar! George wouldn't do it!! LoL!
Kurbside Kustom is Kool especially when you've done so much really tasty bodywork that ain't even subtle at all!
Now, let's talk about this "Front-Wheel-Drive" Scheme going there. Hopefully you haven't secretly replaced the implied Behemoth V8 with something slightly larger than a lawn mower motor, such as a Prius "power-plant". Just so you can have all that extra battery power to turn the rest of it into a rolling speaker! Gasp... LoL! Just not sure that those in charge of this joint can tolerate such a sacrilegious "power" option even in the name of "Kewl Krazy Kustom Kemps" or "thumpin' stereo'z"... LoL! You have a chance to redeem yourself here with some really tasty out of the mainstream paint work here, no monochrome, pasty pastels... LoL! (Seriously, I really like this one! Wouldn't be giving you a ration of.... if I didn't!)

I am REALLY liking this! except for one thing....why a roll bar in a custom interior? ? hmmmm....am struggling with that m friend. All else is SO smooth and refined...and there is this bug hunka metal there that says speed rather then custom. I never understood doing that. Just my 3 cents werth this mornin! and did I see that there will be no v 8 in this? Say it ain't so Joe !!!!! Even a straight 6 is OK with me HEY! Maybe that 4 banger you left outa the phaeton !?!??! hahaha NO! NO! NOOooo!

Customs don't typically have a forward raked stance, fat M&H slicks stuffed up in their fenders or big built 409's under the hood either! The idea has always been a custom on the outside and hot rod on the inside.

Yessssss. Funny, when you posted the previous shots I wasn't entirely onboard with the dagmars (looked a bit like a cartoon chipmunk with nuts stuffed in its cheeks) so I'm delighted to see that super-sano extended floating grille bar! Sorry about the lost bullet...I hope you find it, so you can incorporate it into the next project. And I have to say, that alligator is the cherry on top. You MUST include it in the final build! I'm picturing it on a bed of angel hair, but maybe you don't go in for that kind of silliness

No one ever uses these cool little animals that AMT included in so many of their old Trophy kits. There’s a fun thread on MCM called “Show Your Gee-Gaws” or something similar that shows all the little animals and extras they used to include.

I like the revised grille bar! There's enough space above the taillight lenses to put a sunken aerial above each. It could be angled upward at approsimately the same angle as the rear of the original factory fin as seen from the side. The combo of custom and rod/drag parts doesn't bother me at all. Keep up the good work.

Grill change is perfect! Rear plate set up is good. Roll bar fits just need to have a bit of chrome and upholstery to blend in. Paul

(grin)..so why DO that then Dennis? I hope you didn't take my comment wrong about the roll bar..it was merely an observation of mine. and my preference. I guess that's why we don't all build the same models....huh? I DO love your work my friend!
