Here's a '33 Willys Panel Van I finished up this past fall. I painted and stripped two bodies twice each before I got the color I was after! Lol! It's custom mixed Model Master turn signal amber and stop light red metallic. I built this one to emulate one I saw in an SAE contest anual. The funny part is that I liked the way the color looked in the magazine.....which is what I was trying to duplicate. Since then, I've seen several more pics of this same model posted else where, and it was actually bright yellow.....which turned me off! Lol! Mine is almost exactly the same other wise...I even used 99% of the same decals; but used different wheels and tires on the back of mine. Ed whre did you get the declas from, specially the one for the grill?

The decal for the grille came in the AMT '33 Willys coupe kit.........don't recall which issue; but think it was the 'Buyer's Choice' issue. The 'Moving Violation' decals came from the Revell '41/'42 Willys pickup kit (possibly the second issue). The rest of the decals were from various decal sheets........decals that should be easy to find on a number of decal sheets.
Cool to see this model, I don't think I'd seen it before.
I like the "vintage yellow"! I've often admired the burnt-orange and teal-blue hot rods of the past...before realizing that the photographs have aged, and those cars were probably just plain old red and blue. You get extra points for creating a color that feels right to our modern sensibilities!
I meant a 'newly completed model'.........it'd be nice to actually build and finish something again! LOL! I do have a '33 Willys panel van kit up for sale......still kind of on the fence about letting it go though! LOL!
Like that color, almost looks like School Bus Yellow on my screen. With a color like that it needs a “DO NOT PASS” in Block letters along the back! I’ve built a bunch of ‘33 WILLYS Coupes, for myself and other peoples, I always thought that one would look “interestingly cool” painted up School Bus Yeller with windows striped on the sides and cartoony kids like Tom Daniel’s “S’cool Bus”! But never did it because it’s too much of a rip off of the Monogram kit.
Pretty sure you need to build that one yourself, I think I’d even chip in a few bucks and “Buy” it for yourself and insist you build it! You need some “Inspirational” stuff to work on, that isn’t al sticky and smelly and for someone else! I know that feeling, been doing stuff for other people again lately, several “Detailed” Roth Monsters, currently doing a “Mr. Gasser” for my Uncle, has front and rear frame clips differential and straight axle & springs, scratched interior bucket for Mr Gasser to ride in, instead of the board he stands on normally, barn door injectors and scoop, bell wire for plug wire, fuel lines... all chrome is Alcad and chrome pen highlights. All wrapped in Bright Lipstick Red Paint, Rides on wrinkle walls off a Polar Lights cartoon gasser, and twelve spokes. Not your usual Mr. Gasser, everything’s all detailed and painted just needs assembled to start on another project that’s not mine!

This is a good spot to drop a quick note or ask for help. If you are in a bad mood, this isn't the right spot to drop feelings. Thanks for understanding!

krassandbernie: Yup! I have 3 that are 'seconds'.......which are nicer than what you'd get most anywhere else; or you can just order one. Send me a pm if you are still interested; and we can go from there.
