Here it is in primer the other night. Last night I successfully scribed the door and trim lines in the driver-side shim piece. It was a bitch to keep them straight, but I think I won in the end. Tonight will be the passenger side. Here is the kustom grille I fabbed from the kit's '54 Poncho center piece and appletons for Dagmar ends. Model on...

I saw it in person yesterday, and even in primer it looks great. If I didn't know ahead of time that he had done it.....and if there wasn't an out-of-the-box body next to it.....the difference is very subtle, but it looks 'right.'

Matt that Merc looks a lot better I followed what you did and only had to add .040 shim to straighten the pillars out GeorgeC

At a club meeting last night I grabbed a pic of Matt's Mercs next to each other....the difference is very subtle when they're apart, but much more obvious here:

something i've noticed is that the '54 Pontiac grille always seemed to me like it was lacking something, i mean, it NEEDED something to enhance it. Matt, YOU found that something. i really like the look of that grille now. you did a fantastic job, both on straightening up the chop AND enhancing the grille. way ta go !!! Duane
