I never really liked the skull shifter on my 27 roadster, so I scratched up a new one... Just turned some styrene rod on my dremel and used a fine triangular file to cut the grooves. Heres the old skull shifter... For those of you wondering, heres the finished model...

Nice work. Shifter knob is perfect, the car is a BOMB! That's a great model. I love a used hot rod!

The grenade is perfect! you see a lot of skull shifters, but this is something really different. It fits the rest of this amazing model.

yeah, what Jay said.
Steve, a question, do you remember the plastic radio, column shift, and heater control knobs that are made by alternating colors(usually2) then glued together then drilled that were used on 1.1 cars? how easy would oit be to make something like thois for a model? Duane

Duane If you can find some very thin (.010-.020) colored styrene, it wouldn't be hard at all. Just laminate several strips till its big enough to fit the dremel chuck and turn 'em down. Reps and Minis of MD makes that style knob, but they need to be painted convincingly (not easy to do!)
