as with all beginnings there is the ' mock up' .. ! positioning the body on what ever gets it down as low as possible ... with the wheels stuck down and the trusty flathead positioned between the rails .. all seemingly defying gravity ! that amt 32 is looking a whole lot better already ! now to figure out how all these bits will fit together . i want these tyres ... and these rims a couple section drawings .. some phone calls and one metal machinist later ...

Neat! I don't know how I feel about billet on the car though....haha, j/k! ;D I did the same, but kept the original whitewall piece and turned it to the inside. Just combined the original wheels for those tires with some new centers.

a little time has passed ... the wheels are connected to the chassis .. a better offenhouser flathead is now in place and the interior and details are being resolved .. it's about at this stage that i decided that this was going to be a 'glossy' car ... a 60's style show rod . the interior needs plenty of white tuck n roll .. but what colour on the outside ? the interior needed to be scratch built ... so lets start with a 40 ford dash .. some cool 60's buckets and get to the evergreen

ahh .. the fun continues ! a couple of my favourite 'attitude' shots .. a whole lot more time and scratch building later ... colour !! note .. in the back ground are a set of original 'big' white walls gm 1966 nasau blue and pearl white interior some wires and plumbing .... and it's done !

That's a great looking build, Artus. Looks like AMT's Boyds American hot rod series, with the pre chopped top I like the red steelies with the metal spacer on the front. A little puzzled on the rears, is that whole tire machined? The Flathead is beautiful (xcept for the exhaust). Nice work

Man, Thats such a great build! It has Attitude in every pic! Thats a great solution for making the wheel/Tire combo work. Great flathead and paint color also. I think I like everything about it!

thanks for the comments all ...
geezerman .. on the rear the 'whitewall' is machined to fit into the standard kit tire and match up to the common machined 'dress ring' on either front or rear wheel .
kababa55 .. the build duration overall was maybe 6 months off and on , mostly off !

What kind of chassis work did you do to make it sit so low?
