It wouldn't be too bad if it wasn't for the heavy sectioning of the cab/doors, but we've turned down others that had been cut down equally in the past...

My only prob is the MASH decals. I won't express my personal opinions, but that is what kills the TRaKability for me. BTW...I did love the tv show.

It comes down to whether it looks right. You need to get a feel for what was and wasn't done back in the day - get some old Hot Rod mags or do some research on the HAMB. On the blue truck, I'd take issue with the grille shell rather than the suspension.

Foreign car bodies - pre '69 of course.
I have a '32 Renault kit (by Heller) which I'm going to do as a trad rod. My question is this - are foreign cars OK? The engine will be a small block Chevy.

I don't have a prob with foreign stuff, but let's stick with what would have been seen back in the day at least. I don't know how "traditional" the idea is...someone else is welcome to chime in.

let's try this Bob: let MM (damn, i wish his real name, city, country, etc., was in his sig), build and post the Renault, and IF it doesn'tmeet the guidelines, we can politely ask MM to delete it.
i ask this simply because we have many builders from other countries, and we've all seen and appreciated their ingenuity. does my thought sound feasible !!!!!
what MM has described has me thinking that it'll be and unusual and interesting model.
just my 2 centavos.

Let me try to explain the Renault build a little bit more. Imagine a 32 Ford Roadster with a small block chevy (265-283), tuck and roll upholstery, a solid or maybe candy color, and wheel/tires from the early 1960s - no problem right? Now, the only difference here is that instead of a Ford body, it's a Renault body. It looks like most cars of the '30s. It has a dog house hood that tappers to a front radiator shell, flat windshield, fenders, running boards. Here's a link to a stock version of the model (I didn't build it) You have to imagine it hot rodded. s36.photobucket.com/albums/e37/pontusC/Renault%20Vivastella%201932/?action=view¤t=Vivastella007.jpgThe idea is that it's just fun to see something a little different. I'll be the first to admit you wouldn't see it in American Graffitti. But, you might find one in a junkyard in Quebec. You might also find one in a junkyard in many European countries. If it doesn't fit, that's fine. No whining. I'll just post it at another model site. Not a problem. Just wanted to ask first.

I think the Renault would be kool! A lot of defunct American makes were done in the twenties and thirties too - Essex, Moon, and many many more. But - it's not just up to me. In the mid sixties, I had seen a 32 Nash hot rod - looked pretty kool. I had a 36 Pontiac coupe - similar to a Ford, but much longer hood. Not in the same vein as a Westergard type car, but traditional just the same.

So it looks like Chris is in Lansing, MI. Not sure if I'm getting your point. He can post some of his ideas (hopefully with some pics) here in the "Is this TRaKable" section and see where it goes. What's IS your point? 1932 Renault (French Deuce?) Haven't we seen a Renault Dauphine gasser posted here before?
