This project started off as 'Stress Relief' from another very involved project. I came across the Testors 1/32 Aston Martin DB5, I like them and the 1/32 kits can be fun. So while neck deep in scattered parts for a 32 coupe salt laker I picked up the DB5 to just put something together. Famous last words? The wheels and tyres in the kit are terrible! So I thought I would dig up some new ones........ Well that was hard in 1/32, I just happened to have a 1/32 NASCAR that had the body and chassis robbed by a mate. Well the rubber tyres and the race wheels look quite good. So I sat them under the DB5, cool now I had to make them fit. I started to cut up the kit chassis got the tyres to fit and sat it nice and low. Yup it looked good to me, but then that basic interior now stood out like the proverbial dogs bollox. So to make a new one, pretty easy................... UGH! It needed roll bars, not the nice little single hoop of the time I wanted something serious! So I scratch built a full NASCAR style cage and floor pan. Well with all that it needs something under the hood, right? OK so another NASCAR gave up its motor (The wheels/tyres and all other parts were from two different companies kits) So here it stands, the only kit based parts are the body and grille, and from the NASCARs the seat, diff, steering wheel, motor and gearbox and radiator. Working on the suspension now, I fear everything else will have to be scratch built! well, here is something a little closer to being on topic, 34 3 window in 1/32nd. So,........ whaddya think? Doc.
