This looks like a great project. Can't wait to see more.
I have one of the Monogram Nomads in a gluebomb I'm gonna kitbash with the Monogram Badman gasser one of these days.

I'm not big on the tri-5 Chevy's, but I have always like Nomad's. That is some seriously CLEAN conversion work there! Revell should definately step-up and make a modern tool kit of this. If it was as good as the 150 and Bel-Air I would actually buy one!
One of my Uncle's gave me an older Revell '57 Nomad kit (with all the opening doors) that he found in his garage when I was in my late teens and I remember giving up trying to build it because it was a total pain in the ass! I loved the box, though, with that bitchin' flamed Nomad at the beach.

Chrome reverse rims w. molded-in spyder caps - What's their part #? W-120 for the fronts, W-150 for the rears. By the way - Are there any visual differences between the two wheels apart from the offset? I'm particularly wondering if the wheel lip and bolt-centers are identical, when compared side-by-side.

You guys gotta watch Randy work to really appreciate these kitbashes. He gets the cuts right and, if he misses, fills everything with plastic rather than leave gaps to be bondoed later.

The only difference visually is the depth or offset of the wheels. Otherwise identical. This picture shows the fronts on the left, and the rears on the right.

If I was not mistaken, those wheels look just like the unplated steel wheels from the AMT '59 El Camino kit.........but with the spyder caps molded in. I cast the wheels from the El Camino kit; but have never had a set plated..........they'd probably look pretty darn good!

Randy, did you ever get beyond this point with your '57 Nomad conversion? I'd really like to see more if you did!

I hadn't seen this one before! Very inspiring, if if incomplete. Those chrome-reverse wheels are sweet, too.

But thanks for digging it up and reminding me that I REALLY need to finish this. That is what friends are for! Do I sense a hint of sarcasm in your voice?! LOL! On another note, I am surprised that Revell did not get around to tooling up a brand new '57 Nomad based on the recent '55-'57 toolings before the company changed hands. The only two '57 Nomad kits on the market were the out of proportion Monogram Nomad in 1/24th scale; and the old Revell Nomad kit with opening doors......the sister kit to the original Revell '55 hardtop, '57 Chevy hardtop, and '56 Chevy sedan kits.
