If your not interested in finishing it and would like to pass it on... Thanks, but it's like almost all of my old projects: I WANT to finish it, just can't find the time.

I broke down and ordered a '57 Nomad body from MCW......well, the guy who bought Dave's paint and resin businesses recently. Mike can cast quite well for a beginner! The conversion was done very well; however, Dave skimped out when it came to making his molds. You can tell the sides of the mold were too thin. Mike shored up the mold well enough that the sides weren't thick on the casting I received; but apparently did not notice the same occurring front and back. This left the outside dimensions of the body 1/16" thicker on each end resulting in the hood not sliding back all the way; and the rear bumper being pushed out that much further due to the mounting point and lower portion of the body being that much thicker. I called Mike up and explained what was going on with the mold; and that he should take it off-line to avoid any unhappy customers. He said he'd be willing to replace the body as soon as he gets the mold remade. Hopefully his mold making abilities match his casting efforts. The reason I bring this up is to let you guys know that MCW's '57 Nomad was mastered the same way as Randy's; and the master work was done very well.........good enough for this picky guy who doesn't feel like mastering his own to build! I've bought and traded resin with quite a few other resin casters over the years; and there are only two resin caster's product that I held onto.........while two others were actually nice enough to keep; but sold off due to the lack of interest. I found fault with almost every kit/body I got from Modelhaus (years before they closed up shop); but I've never had an issue with Replica & Miniature's castings (or the master work), or Perry's Resin (other than his crappy customer service). The other two I would recommend (although I am not sure if they're still in business) would be Tom Coolidge and Shawn Carpenter. No one else has matched any of these guys in the quality of the castings and masters used.............not to get off track here! LOL!
