Is that a Star tank? Looks good, man. I always thought that you could always "class-up" anything with a well executed set of lines on it. Nice work, Geezer. This is one of the reasons why I asked Bob to start this thread. I knew that we had some folks with skills other than models. You are NOT disappointing, my friend!

Yeah, That's a Star tank. It looks crummy because the clear over 'flake and candy was sanded lightly, before the striping. It has since been cleared coated to build up surface for final finishing. I painted their helmets to match. My daughter liked some mini flames I had done on something, so I painted some pink mini flames over the air vent on her helmet: So, I painted some on Meatheads vents also:

Very cool Clay. I have a nephew that would love one of your flame jobs on his skateboard.

Thanks, Outlaw, but if I were available, you probably could afford it. I don't have a big head and people tell me I don't realize what I'm worth. Back in the early 70's I was painting custom motorcycles for a little over a hundred bucks, where others were charging $700 and up.

Great looking tank! Nice job. Thats a tight pinstripe line. I got all my colors and have been practicing but I think I have a few more years of practice before I could finish a paint job without fear of ruining it.

Flathead, I always put a coat of clear on before I stripe an unfinished tank. lets you 'erase'. Also, when I'm striping, I keep an old mustard jar full of Prekleeno and a rag handy. That lets you wipe off. Dries clean instantly and dosen't leave an oily residue like thinner would.

This is too cool and funny... Very NICE! I also really like those mini flames... I have never seen them with such jagged edges!

That tank is exquisite. So much care and detail and a wonderful combination of colors and shapes.
