I'm not sure what you're using for a block, or if those heads are even MCG because you stated somewhere they were Rep+Min parts. I just based my thoughts on the color resin, which looked darker than what Rep+Min uses. So I could be way off. Whatever combo you have going on is working because it looks like everything fits. I know Bernard has observed the same issue with the MCG heads, and he is the one that came up with the fix. When i get home I'll try to grab a pic of the issue I'm talking about. But in your case it appears to be a non-issue Just chiming in here; yes if the heads were 1/24th and the block 1/25th, the head would be slightly larger than the mating surfaces of the block. That's where the strip to make up the difference would come into play, adds more mating surface to the block so less visible overhang of the head. Block, if the block is a Replicas & Miniatures, I believe it's origin is the Revell-ogram 1950 Ford Pickup, or at least that's what I remember from the one that I ordered and used. It's a really nice flathead, according to Norm's description one of the best there is/was, I'd agree.

Norms block IS from the 50 Ford p/u....and in my opinion is a TINY bit large for some applications. I actually prefer the flattie from the AMT 34 Ford (green on the box art). ALL the aftermarket heads fit well on it and it looks right (again..my humble opinion)

Looking back, I think I switched heads...started with an Edelbrock...ended up with an Offy. I'll have to go back and check the packaging...which I will do today.
The block is Norm's.
Appreciate the advice guys, as I will be doing more flatheads in various projects...

OK...figured out which heads I'm using. Started out with Edelbrock by MCG 1002.....along the way I chipped the fins on the edges while trial fitting...after a attempting to repair the fins (you can see damage in the picture..top in middle row). I just switched to the Offy heads by MCG. I had Offy white resin heads by R&M but liked the detail on the MCG 1006 heads.

Worked on the exhaust headers....R&M #DD-10 - Cut off the collector on the end of each resin piece, bent a piece of 3/32 inch aluminum tube (using a styrene rod insert to prevent kinking) to fit over the 1/16 inch of each header. Filed the tubing sides to taper the joint to match resin header OD. Headers will be plugged type for street. Measuring exhaust extension to connect to the plugged headers and fit under frame with dual exhaust mufflers.

Not to belabor the issue, because you're obviously not experiencing it with your parts combo. But here is what I was talking about. This is the MCG Evans head, held up against the block from the Revell 50 Ford Pickup. Even though some have noted that ithat block seems large compared to other 1/25 flatheads (don't know that i agree, but that's a discussion for elsewhere) look how big the head is on the block. You can still use the "big" heads on 1/25 block, just add a small strip of plastic to the underside of the head at the top (see triangular shaped space where it would meet the intake manifold) Paint it the same color as the block and the gap disappears. Ok, now that I got that out of the way, lets keep following this fun build of yours.

The aluminum tube I was working with would require a lot of bending to route under the axle which would be a challenge, unless I hung it below the axle. Got an order in from Replicas and Miniatures, got a nice set of headers and pulled the exhaust mufflers from the Revell 29 Model A. Applied some ALCLAD... I think this will work much better.

Ooh, shiny Looking good! Those headers look fantastic in Alclad. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks...Chrome Alclad looks good when you have a good glossy black base. Interesting thing is that when you start with a light dusting it looks really good, but when you say to yourself lets spray some more on.... the more you apply - the duller it gets.

Finally got enough white base coat on the seats to shoot a pearl over coat, which came out real nice. Then masked off pleats to apply black.

I did a tape together mock up to check things over. The steelie wheels have trim rings installed, will get chrome baby moons. Engine has exhaust system in ALCLAD, but needs all the hop up parts. Chassis needs some detailing, tie rods and drag link. The interior needs dash board, gauges and steering column. Windshield frame is chromed, as are headlight brackets. Think I've sourced some vintage tear drop tail lights. Think I see light at the end of the tunnel, might get this one done.
