They look totally TRaKable to me. Maybe weathered but certainly not aRt Rod material. They both have nice stances, too.

Perfectly TRAKable in my opinion.

As long as they are hot rodded under that great looking weathered paint. They appear to be quite stock, but very well done. So I'm hoping there's some performance upgrades lurking under the sheetmetal.

So I'm hoping there's some performance upgrades lurking under the sheetmetal. Nope, which is why I was hesitant to post them. The truck was in progress for a couple of years trying to sort out the paint and what to do moving forward, and turned into a quick build at the end to get it wrapped up. The sedan was a quick build from the get go, inspired by a similar looking 37 sedan I've seen locally. Both are stock appearing flatheads without any additional plumbing or wiring. I considered using the Olds in the sedan, but didn't want to fool around with the single exhaust.

Sometimes all it takes is stance, wheels, and tires to make a hot rod. Nobody has to know the engines are stock! I like the survivor-style patina. It's not ratty at all.

The patina work on them is really good, especially the sedan. If that was photographed with a natural background it could easily pass for a real 1:1 car. And you were right to post it in here first if you were unsure. I know in the past Bob has been reluctant to let these nearly 100% stock builds be posted in the main forum, so I'll leave it up to him. I'm just happy you took the time to share them because they are great looking builds.

I agree with Chris....what people don't know won't hurt them!

Thanks, guys.
Craig, not feeling put down upon at all- I figured they weren't hot rodded or customized enough to fit in here, which is why the truck has been done 11 months and y'all haven't seen it yet. These were fun quick builds to get finished up (the truck was quick once I got the paint done and decided not to go overboard with the rest).
I have a few undeniably appropriate-for-TRaK builds bouncing on and around my bench that I'd love to share when they're done, but two are more involved than these and I just don't always have the mental energy for the problem solving required to do them right. I'm thinking the third will be about as (un)detailed, but I'll need to get the paint nice... If/when I get them done, you'll see them.

So now's the time to start some WIP's on your builds. You need help? This is the right place for that. Gary

So now's the time to start some WIP's on your builds. You need help? This is the right place for that. Gary I'm pretty bad at updating build threads, and also pretty bad at documenting things along the way when I'm actually making progress on a build, so build threads don't really work well for me. I'll post a picture of a bare body mocked up, then pictures of it 90% done, then the completed build in a separate thread, if I finish it at all. Maybe I can get something together and follow through. We'll see. I'm thinking about bringing one of the more detailed builds back to the bench to see how it goes.

I love that sedan! If it had a Cadillac multiple carbs under the hood it would be even cooler! One of these days I will build a mildly weather hot rod like this!
