Bought the green deuce to chop up for this build, but it is really to good not to be rebuild along the original builders line. So I popped open one of my sealed stash of 32's. First was a 3" chop with laid back 'A' posts. The one to one chop has multiple pie cut pillars to do the windshield posts so the roof was not lengthened. Second thing I did was move the rear fender openings up 4", use dividers to reshape the inner fender to chassis fit. I started to add the body line back around the fender opening with .030 x .040 Evergreen. The last bit I laid out new scribe lines to raise up the door bottoms 6" so the 7" channeled chassis doesn't show a lot when the doors opened. Paul
For the curious here is the 32 in the back ground to nice to part out completely.

Nice chop. Off to a great start.
Just my humble suggestion, when you rebuild the green one please bring the tires in under the body, at least a little bit? And also, any idea where those headers for the 348/409 came from?

Those tires will be history, I feel one half the width and more period with 1965 New England style. I plan on a set of narrowed and bobbed stock rear fenders. The headers I think are from the Monogram Landy Charger or the Drag on Lady GTX. Definatly not for a Bow Tie. I had to work to get out the engine, it was glued to the chassis by the headers. Still working to get them off the engine. Must have used a 1ounce bottle of C.A. !

I guess I misunderstood. I thought these were two separate projects. I know the green isn't TRak-able, but commented on it anyway.

The white plastic 32 is the subject of the thread. On DP and an other thread the white plastic deuce was ignored and all remarks were about the green 32. That will be a separate thread on it's rebuild. This thread is for the Silver Sapphire build. Paul

Did the new door lines on it and finally found an original Stone Woods Cooke parts kit for the Olds 394 engine. I'm now waiting for my paint order to shoot the engine and part of the chassis. Funny I took over 100 photos of the car when is was in the Peterson Museum and never took pics of how the generator was driven with the blower on it. Paul

Well it was sure a long break! It took a bit of time to figure out how to make, fit and fasten the pieces under the doors, 2mm spaced apart and .010 Evergreen sheet plastic.Fastened and all have 4 .011 holes in them for the .010 stiffening rods. Can't put them in until it's painted and on the chassis for good. Rear panel is done and deck lid rescribed.

Paul, did you make the rear panel, or modify an old styline (or?) part? Looks real cool. Gary

Paul, did you make the rear panel, or modify an old styline (or?) part? Looks real cool. Gary Rear panel is a split piece of 9/32 Evergreen tube with the other half quartered to make fillers for the top and bottom. The balance is shaped from Bondo Ultra. It seems better than Rage filler because it bonds to polystyrene.

Not being familiar with the Silver-Sapphire car, I couldn't figure out why you didn't trim off the excess body when you raised the doors up and added the bead line. I checked out the car and now it becomes clear. Wonderful work.

One bad pic of it in color, before my camera took the week off to go back to Fuji.

Paul, I like how you did the transverse leaf spring. That's one good way to do it, especially with the lack of readily available Model A or '32 or later rear crossmember from either model companies, resin and now 3D printers. I save any crossmember I can to put in those Revell frames.

I took these pics this evening before I took it apart to modify the interior to raise the floor 1/8" and to correct the steering column that popped up to block the windshield. So after popping out the engine, worrying off the .010 aluminum firewall, getting the chassis out and cutting apart the interior,(that took close to 3 months to finish) all is modified and test fitted. Tomorrow I'll reassemble and shoot a few picks.
