Modified the interior and reassembled it and moved the chassis back a bit.
Started on the nose. Cturner sent me a pair of Ala Cart noses. I split the bottom on one and added 3mm from the bottom to make the light more vertical. Than cut 1.5mm out of the bottom and 2.5 out of the top to get the final shape I wanted. Next I'll cut the front of the grill opening off to the light openings to square the front up more and add .015 plastic to flatten off the top.

While I'm not the biggest fan of the final version of the 1/1, there are elements of it I like. And I love how you're making the extra effort to nail the details. Looking most excellent so far!

I prefer the last version with the 32 grill and the Paxton supercharger and the first version with the current nose.

I think it's really cool that you're building your own version of this iconic car!

I think it's really cool that you're building your own version of this iconic car! I agree, I like your Deuce better than Chi Chi's Deuce, yours flows a whole lot better, especially the sculptured sections under the doors and at the tail. That blue is a real standout looks like a "True Blue" or Navy-Blue shade. Which is one thing I like about yours; the darker shade of blue seems to tie the color and bodywork as a whole together without looking like a George Barris afterthought!

It you use the resin body out there, you lose a lot of the details of the original mods. It seems to mimic the "up dates" done by it's restoration plus the doors on the resin one are too tall since the 1 to 1 door bottoms are even with the top of the chassis. The blue it a close match to the original color the Alexander Brothers used, 1949 Oldsmobile Sapphire Blue on the first 4 versions. When Sam Barris and Chilli chopped it the color looked more silvery. The next version with all the Lucite parts the color is a darker Blue with Silver scallops in a more complicated lay out, probably because Roth was involved?

I was looking through my references. The all custom work done from day one in 1959,( less the top chop and candy paint) was done by the Alexander Brothers. There has been including the current version 11+ variants of the car. The chop and repaint was done after hours by Clarence Costello and Junior Conway when 20 year oldCostello moved to Cali and went to work at Kustom City as a sander. Barris choose the final color of H.O.K True Blue Candy and took the pics for HRM. He also stated the original custom work was done " his crew at his eastern shop". The one I saw on an other site is the Hendricks body and copied the lowered foot wells in the interior and some drive train parts that were done in the restoration by the current owner. Here is the A Brothers build photos.
