Now that interior, very interesting ideas here too. I also have 4 of those AMT 58 Chevy custom seats, and the Revell 59 Chevy convertible door panels. I think those are very good ideas. When you started this it inspired me to start my own 59 Imperial. Same kit but as a convertible in my case. Nothing posted on that yet. Keep up the great work and photos. Gary Thank you! I think I can figure out a way to either scratchbuild the door panels or if take the ”easy” eay out and use the 59 cadillac panels. Isn’t there a roof in yours? I can build mine both as a convertible and a hard top.

Same kit but since you used your top I thought it best not to use it for mine. Gary

I see what you mean regarding the interior in these kits. For some reason I've never been a huge fan of interior modifications, but when the kit supplied interior is as simplified as that, something has to be done...
But you're doing a very good job with this. Especially I'm interested to see how the glass on the roof turns out.

Marcus; I hope you do something different with the grille; .i’ve always thought, that within itself, the grille, it’s opening were too massive !

I have been working on the front end a bit. I want the front to look like the 61 imperial, but with a few changes. Very much inspired by the 61 in this build. I also take ”the best” out of 59-62 imperials and mix with other mopar designs from that era. Was looking at my finished 58 plymouth build (early build with cracked paint) and realy liked that front end. Thought about it and took it from my shelf. ”Accidentally” broke the grille and bumpers of. Cut the lights of, narrowed to fit and glued to a piece of plastic card to stabilize it. With the 58 plymouth parts i got the front end to look totally different and this is the look i will continue with. Still a lot of work to get it as i want but this is my start.

That revised front end styling looks cool! I like that you kept the "eyebrows" on the leading edge of the front fenders giving it the Imperial look but the different headlights and grille make it look smoother and more custom.

I will not use those headlights though, just put them in there to get a look on how it would be eith some type of lights in it. Haha. I will use small, dual 32 ford or hot rod lights. Maby some ”dummy spotlights”. If you know how the 61-62 imperals look you will understand.

The floating headlights should look really good and keep with the "same thing, only better" customizing.

Glad you're going with floating headlights.
