Beautiful job Gary. About 10 years ago I grafted the AMT 41 to the Revell 48 convertible and never got much further along on the project. One thing for sure. Yours turned out vastly better than mine.

That paint looks great! If you need any extra parts for the '41, let me know. In my "someday" box I'm planning to combine the '41 woody body (from the windshield back) with a '41 Lincoln front clip and rear fenders.

Looking good! The re-shaped DLO makes a huge difference. It will look downright conservative next to the hardtopped version, haha.

Beautiful job! What type of paint and clear did you use?

Great work on the windows. That and rechopping stalled mine. I should have filled them and started from scratch as you did.

The paint is Model Master 2902 Arctic Blue over Testors Gloss Black. There really isn't any clear as I'm mixing paint brands now that access to my favorite brands (see above) is getting difficult. I used to use the clear of either of the above brands but can't find it any more. The Tamiya clear paint I've been switching to is causing crazing over some of the Testors/Model Master colors. I really need to test all paints I use in the future to avoid this issue. Most of my models have too many hours in them to want me to start over after a crazy paint job. Gary

I've been working slow and steady on this and the 48 Hardtop as the interiors and the engines are finished the same except that the 41 has the 41 steering wheel from the woody. The chassis are nearly the same for each model except the front axle on the 41 needed narrowing. The front and rear "glass" is taped and glued in on both models, but I need to make and glue the vent windows on this model. Final assembly is close! I just will give the polish a final cleaning. Hosted on FotkiDo you guys think I should give the grilles a dab of black wash? Let me know. Thanks! Gary

WoW, Gary, all that chrome and shiny paint on beautiful bodywork is almost too much to take this early in the morning! LoL! Kind of makes you wonder why it ever went into hiding; it sure looks like it's going to turn out to be a "Taildraggin' Beauty"!
