Ok, not getting ahead of myself I still need to finish the Ranchwagon! This is all I will post for now, might be next after the Ranchwagon. I got this car recently and my first thoughts were mild kustom, but I feel like the style of the car with the rear quarters especially wouldn't look that cool. Then I thought it would be a good bonneville car because of them big ass fins and how I could kinda go with a similar look as Hot Rod Magazines 57 Plymouth. I am not going to copy the car, it's not even the right year....but I am going to take ideas from it. I had to share it, looks too cool already! I was trying to find some rims that Craig is looking for and came across this set of wheels with some machined disc caps that I think Parts by Park made. I knew these would be perfect for this!

Like I told you in the text, you're definitely on to something here. Keep that low stance (the Hot Rod 57 sits with the rear too high in my opinion) and those wheels are money. Add a roll bar and maybe some side glass?

Good choice on the Moon Bonneville disks. I instantly thought of HRM's "SUDDENLY" Plymouth Yours needs the inboard headlights opened for "ram air" intakes and a set of NASCAR style exhaust out at the rear of the rockers.

all good ideas and yes I was planning on the roll bars, hadn't thought of the windows but that's a great idea too as well as the exhaust which had crossed my mind. the headlights , kinda crossed my mind, but hmmm not sure I want to kill that grille/headlight assembly just yet.

Oh man I love the idea! Go for it! I think it needs to be stock height with a little forward rake, ala Suddenly and the various Mopars driven by Norm Thatcher (His '60 Dodge is a great example.) I think they ran them high to keep air from getting trapped under the body, causing instability. Looking forward (get it!) to further developments!

Can't wait to see more Bob. I think the stance looks fine as is. You could build it as if Plymouth was going for a speed record in 1960. A little tape over the headlights, headers sticking out the side, roll bar and the side glass as already mentioned. If I remember correctly Plymouth (perhaps Dodge) ran a early hemi (65?) pretty much stock to over 150mph, so this would kind of be in that wheel house. Of course you could build yours as a modified Plymouth and modify the heck out of it. My 2 cents.

Bob, here are a couple shots of Norm Thatcher's '60 Dart Phoenix so you can see the stance on this bad-ass record-setting car. IIRC, the scoops fed an injected 383. Norm's worth a google! He had a long career at Bonne and El Mirage in a string of Mopar products.
