On the heels of my "polished plastic" AMT '57 gasser, I've been bitten by the Tri-Five gasser bug. So, here's my AMT '55 Bel Air sedan, dechromed to make it a 150. I stole the hood, scoop, and straight axle from the '55 Nomad kit.

Looking forward to this build. My favorite class of drag-racing is the Gasser class, followed closely by SS and MP. I really need to get my workbench back together and start doing some building and finishing some of the builds I already have started. What are your plans for 'motorvation' with this build?

What are your plans for 'motorvation' with this build? Yesssss..... Inquiring minds wanna know.... Mighty-mouse mill or a mystery motor? An "actual" mystery motor, or The "W". Pinocchio activated. I'm nosey! Tom

What are your plans for 'motorvation' with this build? Thanks, guys! So far, I'm thinking 327, but with something offbeat for induction. Man-A-Fre, possibly? I mean, it was good enough for Milner...

In order to make the detail a lot more accurate on this AMT '55, I grafted in the chassis, firewall, engine compartment, and front pan from a Revell '55 convertible. Eventually the inner fenders will need to be modified to clear the 3d-printed fenderwell headers.

I was going to say you did a great job cleaning the exhaust off that AMT chassis, then I went back and read your post. Looks a whole lot better than the stock AMT chassis by a longrun.
As soon as I finish up a couple of Tall T's, El Camino, '57 F100,,, I'm restarting my own D/GAS '55. That's how I knew about the highly detailed molded in exhaust system on the AMT '55 chassis. If someone was building a Stock '55 then it might work out, for anything else, it's just too much engraved unneeded detail!

Very nice work grafting the Revell engine bay on that AMT body! '55 Chevy Gasser is one of my all time favorite cars so it's interesting to see how this turns out.

YEAH!
That's some great cross-pollination there, Randy.

But, I remember a 55 coupe with a 56 front clip. Musta salvaged the 55 with what he had in his junk pile.
