I just had this done... my concept, but the tattoo artist did the drawing. Just my tribute to the cars, artists and styles that have always interested me! Anybody else got some tattoos to show?

Steve, I agree with you completely, Tattoo's are indeed art. I'll dig out pics of mine, I have 4 currently, and my artist is working on the drawings for 3 additional. The problem with tats is it's almost impossible to stop at one.

Had this one done Sept 2007, the artist was the shop apprentice, her work was better then the 3 guys who were teaching her.

Bob, my first tattoo was the name of my then girlfriend. Talk about bad idea. Now I have an eagle that does a great job of covering it. If you didn't know it was there you'd never see it. The best advice I can give you is if you are not comfortable with the artist or the shop walk out and find one that you are comfortable with.
When I went to Ohio earlier this year I had just gotten a new tat, the hotel wanted to know if I wanted to use the water park. I mentioned that my tattoo artist would kill me. The girls at the front desk wanted to see the tat. So I showed them, they first admired it, then said "you didn't get that here, because none of our tattoo artist are that good".

I don't know how many times I've heard "Free Tattoo... but I regret it"! Something thats gonna last this long, I make sure its EXACTLY what I want, regardless of cost.
Never, ever get a name... unless its a tribute!

i agree with the getting just one thing! i have 3 so far and i want more, hopefully in the next month or so i'm going ot get one that i have wanted for a long time. not all artists are truly artists! locally here there are plenty of shops, but none that i admire the work from. my brother-in-law lives in Delaware and knows a good artist there and that's where i'll be going.
i got my first one when i was 17 from a rough looking biker guy in a trailer park! probably the best work i have had done too. i really like Mopar's so i have a Roadrunner on my left arm, then there is my wifes initials on my shoulder, worst work done, very heavy handed. the last one i got was the American flag on my right arm, not bad but the guy just wouldn't listen. i'll get that fixed soon when the guy in Delaware does the new one!

oh, by the way, i was down in Roanoke Virginia back in the early 90's and used to visit Danny's Ancient Art down that way. some good artists there back then and a very nice shop, very clean. i'm not sure if that place still exists, but any of you guys or girls in that area may want to look them up.

I have a good friend who had a chopped '51 Merc done on the inside of his arm. When he showed it to me I was in shock, one that he thought it was good and two that the "artist" would even do such sh&*ty work. The cars is done in a flat side view from the passenger side. The tires and wheels are out of round and the "B" pillar on the drivers side is shaded in. I'd have been ok with the tires being flat on the bottom but these weren't even close to being circles. It added one more shop to my list that I will never walk into.
